Yay! Because there is no record inside, I had to pay only 10% taxes instead of 24% :D
Let's pretend that they put the shipment as a 'gift' package.  Would you pay no fees?

If a nice customs officer happens to handle it. Most of the time, plain 'gift' does not help - especially if the package has a value that's marked this high. If they have a bad day, they take the fees even though it is marked as gift and of value $10, because the limit is €22 (value+shipping combined)

and drop additional $30 customs fee...

You'll be so happy with the book the $30 customs fee will not bother you. I guess I had low expectations after the Halloween book.
yes very happy with this. the book is beautiful.
the shirts fit like a glove and the mug is great too.

for me the value limit seems to be somewhere around $60-70. if a lower value is put on, then I never have to pay taxes. marking the package as "gift" seems not to have an impact on taxes.

......whereas, in the UK, marking the item as a gift increases the figure at which you have to pay tax by around $40 (from approx. $40 to $80). Marking the item as a gift definitely helps, but not as much as marking the total value as $20!

personally it even helps more when the item is selling for $20.

$300 smackers  :cobain:

Holy shit I can't believe that smiley is called coBain]

The flippers are shy but they are coming out... This is not my extra it's xl and the book is still wrapped in paper and the mug in it's box. It's fate is undetermined but I have two good ideas. one is similar to that movie Rat Race the other involves Meezer and a wild trip across the cuntry in a convertible, Thelma and louise but no double suicide.
