3-necked bass monster:

You can smell the prog on this bass a mile away. The cringe kind of prog too.
Nothing says "Yes" more than a ritwatulous instrument like that.

Nothing says "NO!" more than me when someone's listening to Yes.

YES 'I've Seen All Good People' is a fucking masterpiece.

if I did have to pick a favorite, I'd have to go with Big Melvins. Two drums, two vocalists...
I think right now i want to see the band stick with Pinkus. I've always enjoyed the BB guys being involved but i'd rather see them be more active on their own. Two bands of interest operating at the same time is better than one! I will say i've never quite fully got into Jared's vocals with Melvins. A little too prominent for me so that's a big reason why i would prefer someone else. Someone who will take more of a backseat vocally. Coady is a fantastic drummer of course but i do think i prefer to see Dale alone. Ultimately it's cool in a way to move on. I like what BB did with the band but as with all the eras, i think that had it's moment and the next phase is now underway.

what he said ^

No, that is complete nonsense. Jared/Coady will be back in Melvins, and they will continue to rock with Big Biz. How about we let Buzz/Dale do the driving and just sit back and enjoy the ride? There hasn't yet been a bad Melvins lineup, so why not just enjoy what happens when it happens?

Dude at work told me Rush busted out the double necks last week in Buffalo. Judging by the setlist, it was probably for Xanadu.

3-necked bass monster:

Meezer, I believe that top bit is just a three course, six string mandolin.
(yes, I've studied bluegrass music extensively :nerd:)

Yes. Mandolin. What's your point, exactly?

*it has 8 tuning pegs.  :nerd:

It's still probably a mandolin, just lacking one course of strings. Although it is more usual for the number of strings to go up (5 course, 10 strings).
I will admit that it is unusual, but of course, this is an unusual guitar we are speaking of.
(please don't make this into a 4 to 5 string banjo debate)
