Walsby posted on Facebook that he has to pack up and split during Napalm Death's set sometimes on this tour. Happened last night and some people were pissed. Get there early. Buy early.

I always go about an hour early and catch him early. Last time I did it he had 2 copies of the redd kross 12" split.

It's at the 9:30 Club, so that's the reason why. 9:30 thinks they're fucking legendary like CBGBs or something, but with a total corporate mentality. If a band wants to sell their merch there, they HAVE TO give 9:30 Club a cut. I don't know what percent, but this IS FACT, learned it from the Clutch forum.  I've never set foot in D.C., but if I lived near there, I would try and avoid that shitty establishment. It's ND's tour, so Melvins have no say in where they're playing. If it was a Melvins headline tour, I'd bet it would be at The Black Cat, or somewhere else.

I saw Walsby's post advising fans to get in line for merch before ND goes on if you want something. I don't blame them, makes sense logistically, things should run smoother, and he doesn't have to deal with drunk fucks afterwards. I'll scope it out in Cleveland well before Melt-Banana goes on.

930 club def thinks they are iconic. They now have a room devoted to a bunch of records and CDs of bands that have played here. It's called the 930 club hall of records and all it is is a bunch of CD/record spines behind glass. Totally dumb. The funny thing is a lot of the CDs are doubled and even quadrupled I guess to make it look like more bands have played there. Either that or kasabian had a 4 night stint. Everyone in the room was confused and making fun of it.

I just got back from the show at 9:30 Club, and yes there was no melvins merch for sale, same as the last time they played there during the first Pinkus tour. I have no idea whether the club's merch policies are as artist-unfriendly as people say, but I, having been to numerous shows there, have yet to have a bad experience. The layout and the sound are great, the staff are friendly, and security knows when to lay off and when to step in.

Beer is a little pricey, but I don't go there to drink. Also they seem to have replaced the hot rocker sluts tending the bar with rejects from a Girls casting call.

Is Sleep in DC on a weekend? Pittsburgh is way closer, I'm heading there from WNY. Yeah it's midweek, but I'll burn two VAC days for a Sleep roadtrip.
