Amazing show, as always. Merch table was weak, though.. No squirrel shirt. Basically the only shirt there was the Melvins/ND tour shirt. War Pussy lp was 45 bucks - No thanks. I bought the Melvins - Giving Tree poster because that was what most likely would get wifey approval to hang in the house. No Banana was in site even though I got mulltiple texts from the Banana. The end.

Oh, and for all the jive glenana talked about only wanting to go to the rough and tough Detroit for Melvins shows -  I have never seen such a hipster hangout scene than I did tonight in midtown Detroit. I have never felt so safe

missed melt banana.   D'OH!   why do they start the first band when half the building is still in line to get in?

MELVINS killed it.     not my favorite set list of all time but sesame street meat, leech, night goat were things of beauty.      shane embury once again on bass for the new closer.

Napalm Death did what Napalm Death does.  audio assault on the 2/3 of the building that were left after MELVINS set.


my complaint:   the soundman needs a kick in the nuts desperately.   I've seen somewhere in the neighborhood of six jillion live bands.   this was the loudest.  the vocals for both bands were literally painful.    I heard... or at least briefly heard everyone around me complaining about the same thing.      help me out here Jozzy, No?       I literally felt light headed by MELVINS song 2.
I'm still in pain this morning, my ears are ringing intensely.      there was no reason for it just none.   I love me some loud music, LOVE me some loud music.   but that crossed over into something else.    there's LOUD and there is discomfort.  this was nausea.   (oh.... my... GOD!!  I'm old.  it just happened)

EGO the living planet sighting.   I missed Jozzy, the joint was PACKED.     Child Bite in the house pushing thier new album and record release party on the people.  they mingled the audience and handed out fliers.

in closing:  BRING BACK THE BAR SHOW.    the theatre shows are great and all... but I'm a 200 capacity guy 100 times out of 100.  it sounds better, it feels better, it IS better.

My hearing has been damaged by amongst other things not using earplugs at concerts in the eighties and ninethies. Now its in every time. A bit like using condoms, not optimal, but one gets used to it.

Yeah, it was loud as shit last night! I felt like I was getting punched in the gut every time Dale used his kick drum. Very glad I wore ear plugs last night.

As far as the show I think he was expecting something more challenging - ended up leaving early complaining about that and the crowd. I called him a bitch and told him to get his shit together
