I think Buzzo's absolute greatest guitar solo is from "Your Blessened". Pure fury into pure feedback bliss. I could listen to this millions of times and it will never get old. Absolute perfection.

So many great things you could point out about this song. The lyrics + the guitar + the drums come together perfectly at the one minute mark.

That album is the missing link.

IMO nothing stands up to the face melting Buzzo signature solo on "Divorced"

Good choice!! Nothing comes to mind for me guitar solo wise, in fact thinking about it, i can't really recall Buzz soloing much. But yes that one in 'Divorced' would probably have to be up there.

I'll have to listen again, but I always assumed that was Adam Jones.  "Revolve" has a perfect solo too, sort of Fripp-esque.  I recently listened to "Instant Larry". The shredding on there has to be Mark D.? Sounds way too Vai-ish to be Buzz.

Mark D has a special way of shredding and noodling. there's be-bop and avant garde overtones to the way he picks and goes off scale. Buzz does tend to go with the same tones as Adam, so that would be hard for me to say for sure.

Just went back and listened to Divorced (I do not think I have heard that song in over a decade at least). I think Adam and Buzz are both playing guitar solo parts.

Is this saying Mark D wrote and performed all the leads on this song? Interesting if so. By far my favorite guitar "solo"(s) in any Melvins song.

But I also love "Youth of America" and there's one somewhere on the Never Breathe album that is rather transcendant. I made a list a while ago that I never shared, I'll dig it up soon.
