Agree this is really interesting to hear Buzz speak outside the normal talking points. Interviewer got him to open up. Felt like a real conversation. Biggest take away - COD vinyl this summer lol!
Well, we'll always have "In the Air Tonight." Will that be your most enduring song?
You know, that song won't lie down. It just won't go away. I mean, there's a Mike Tyson moment associated with it now. It's just bizarre. I guess it has a bit of mystery, a lot of atmosphere, and the drums coming in, pinning people to the wall.

The 90minute one the other day, Garza(?), was really interesting, too. That thing where he asked about being asked to join Nirvana and Buzz refuting it then the interviewer puts his head in his hands and his whole soul just drops. I liked how Buzz handled it, though. He seemed more present with the guy. He seemed like he appreciated the questions rather than just rote memorized spiels. He still went to most of the same talking points, but his personality seems to be in a good place recently.

I like how he seems to be just casually fitting these interviews in each day whilst on tour before the show later in the evening. A bit like a - who am i speaking with today?

Bigval

That was a good interview.

It'll be a bit weird to flip over at a break in the "song". 60 minutes i guess it'll be a two vinyl set. Although i wouldn't rule out them cutting it down to a 45 minute album a la the Hold It In treatment.

Please no. Having never had a vinyl release, it deserves the deluxe treatment!

Which option lends itself more to Buzz saying "I guess people are buying it. Beats me. I still listen to CDs. I guess it's on streaming which doesn't make us any money. Tom Hazelmyer said we get more dollars if we do it this way so I just let him do what he wants to do. When you find good people like Tom you just trust in them as long as it keeps working. I'd have to be an idiot to make less money on it. Mackie is doing a version. Tom is doing a version. We will hopefully have those on the next tour. I think of it as collecting art."

My guess is they cut it down. Melvins seem way more into editing and streamlining old works than expanding them.

But Live Stream Obscene was a big set. Five Legged Dog was a big set. Endless Residency was a ridiculously big set. Maybe they're due for a double LP.

Melvins are due to release a proper live CD w/ Steve ala "Sugar Daddy Live" which was their last real live one. He's been in the band ten years now and the only real live release is Live Stream Obscene, which I don't count because it's "live in the studio". A live album of the upcoming tour w/ Coady would be awesome.
