I know I've told this story here before but I met Barney at a show in Flint MI.  I believe it was 2006.
and I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND A DAMN WORD HE SAID.     that accent is THICK.

on a related note, another story I already told, I recently met another gentleman from Birmingham.  I knew he was from Birmingham immediately because I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND A DAMN WORD HE SAID.

Well i can understand Barney perfectly! But then i only live around 45 miles away from Birmingham. It's the Scottish i struggle with sometimes. That is like an alien language with some accents.

This was a really cool interview. Love the chatter about life and dogs and etc. My God does he compartmentalize the personal stuff. Couldn't even handle dating people he went to school with lest those social entanglements turn with a sea breeze. I have a really really good friend who's like that and I'm pretty sure that's a disorder of some kind

Nice to hear it confirmed that a new album with Coady involved is in the works. Recording at the end of the year so i guess maybe for a 2026 Summer/Fall release!

Buzz sure is still a good sport about all the Nirvana Q's he'll get til the tomb.

On that point I think Nirvana is Exhibit A of the culture industry having thoroughly killed my love of a thing due to overexposure.

Maybe it made sense to make all that hay the first ten years. Maybe even through to the end of the oughts. But now? There is nothing left to say about that fucking band. It is beyond perished and dated. The romance and drama is long gone. The music is old (good, but old).

It's Nirvana and Star Wars that make me think maybe I'm in hell and my punishment is to feel my earnest enjoyment of a thing be gradually bled dry by member berries and nostalgia rapists until my only feeling is anhedonia.
