Thinking about the rest of 2022

I keep wondering about when this new album is going to come out. Dale said they hope it will be this year but time is moving along. I've been thinking where they could even place it in the year too. I've noticed with the Ipecac releases that they announce a Melvins album 3 months before the release date. That makes it really uncertain how to position it. The band are touring mid June to the end of July. They could announce it before then but it would be weird to announce a record before a tour and not actually have that album out.

We heard from Mackie that they also have another tour planned after The Electric Roach one. Perhaps that could be in late August/early September. Gig for a month through October and finish up by November. That feels right in how they usually tour. There is little chance that Ipecac would release something in December - the band have never done that before. So as i see it i would guess that a new album will be announced fairly soon. Probably in June for a September release. But like i say that is weird to announce it just before an unrelated tour.

Sure enough a third tour got announced! I'm curious about the recordings with Mayorga now!

Since the fall tour is Five Legged, I'm going to guess it's the acoustic trio and won't be new stuff. I'm guessing new album early 2023

Yeah i agree, that looks pretty likely now unfortunately. It will still be really cool to see (presumably) the band doing the acoustic stuff live on it's own proper tour.

I think that could be pushed way back there in terms of release. The new album they recorded almost a year ago now hasn't even been announced yet.
