Black & Blue Friday: Melvins Live in NYC

So... any thoughts about it? I'm very glad they announced the forthcoming release of the Melvins TV Blu-ray along with the dolls (they're quite adobrable but I'm not going to pay for them), the "Zyklon B Zombie" tune was not very excting, to be honest, I thought it was meh... at least the last portion of the track was better. Also, what do you think about Steven's bass during most of the show? Buzz's guitar sounded great but the bass was barely audible, only the higher notes were more present in the mix.

Really? Because they put the "coming soon" message with the dolls and the "coming sooner" message for the Blu-Ray... UNLESS they are going to do something else with them... A stop-motion short maybe?

Yeah just heard that myself! Perhaps at this point Steven is a pure hype man and they don't let him plug into the amps! Ha.

I thought it was quite good, no special guests though, just a normal show. If I remember correctly, they played Sacrifice, Oven, It's Shoved, Charlie, Lovely Butterfly, Lizzy, Mister Dog Is Totally Right, Never Say You're Sorry, Hooch, Honey Bucket, Evil New War God and With Teeth... maybe I forgot a few titles but that is what I remember right now.

I love these melvins productions. They are always well thought out. I was definitely disappointed by the fact that i could not hear the bass very well. Steven was going to town with Dale and I could not hear shit! Def missed opportunity there.

As i was listening to the noisy country-tawnged lilt of the song during the Void Manes preview and was getting motion sickness as the clouds quickly moved overhead in the visuals it struck me that Ipecac will not be making anyone sick without Melvins. Melvins might have made Ipecac what it is and I didn't realize that until last night. And i think Melvins are moving ahead in a more independent direction. Might be seeing them less and less on Ipecac is what i thought.

The major take away from the whole thing for me was i guess we will be getting the Helms Alee split after the void manes throbbing gristle face off.
