It happened to me. I was going to see L7(yes a little embarrassing),
and I bought Prick because they were the opening band. I was having a good amount
of luck back then finding new bands that way. Anyway, I hated the album and sold it.
I didn't even consider it to be music. I had a much easier time getting into Mr. Bungle,
which I also didn't find to be music about the first 5 times I listened to it.
So we saw them open for L7, and I was blown away. I never even listened to L7 after that.
My wife thought that the Melvins were talented, but that their music was nothing but a bunch of intros & outros linked together, but I was hooked right there. I bought Stoner Witch,
once I had heard "Revolve" & "Queen" on the radio.
I said I heard the Melvins on the radio. Different times, indeed.
I loved Stoner Witch and it became the gold standard by which I judged all
Melvins music for the next ten years. I went back and bought Prick before Stag came out,
and found it to be a CD single for the instrumentals "Rickets" & "Larry".
Albeit, a single that needed a lot of editing. I've since grown to love "Punch The Lion", "Chief Ten Beers", & "Pick It And Flick It" if not for their musical qualities, the titles alone are
more awesome than anything else you could spend your hard earned cash on.
Today I'd give Prick 2 & 1/2 stars and keep it around to tape the Larry & Rickets
on anything that Stoner Witch goes on. And now, for your listening pleasure,
a few moments of Pure! Digital! Silence!
By the way, I don't know Glen. No offense. Seems nice, though.

Um, you both are crazy.  L7 are good.  Especially pre-1995.

I heard them on KUKQ here in Phoenix. An A.M. "alternative" station, that had two short stints on the air. Still pretty legendary in these "Corporate Rock" parts. They played "Hooch" too!

Holy fucking shit. I just realized that Inner Ear Rupture on Freak Puke is basically Pick It N' Flick It with stand-up bass. O_O

))))((((

I take it this is just a vinyl, limited edition version of Prick? Same tracklist and everything? At first i wondered how AmRep could release this but then i had forgot they were behind the original '94 record. For some reason i thought it was on Atlantic.
