Dave must have heard about the grohl story Buzz told on the solo tour.

))))((((

Really it's Buzz - 40 years, Dale - 39 years, Steven - 8 years. But hey who's counting!

Dillard sorta never stopped being a Melvin officially, so I think he still counts.

So Buzz introduced Kurt to punk, and then the melvins introduced Grohl to Nirvana.

Why isn't there an entire melvins wing in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame?

So Buzz introduced Kurt to dope, and then Dale introduced Grohl to huge drum kits.

Why isn't there an entire melvins wing in the Betty Ford clinic?

i'm not obviously a Foo Fighters fan but i'm a huge fan of Dave Grohl as drummer, i consider him as one of the greatests ...this for saying that i'd be stoked to hear a collaboration with The Melvins, think to a double drum monster kit with Crover

Ok, time to change my pants...

I agree - I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone likes Foo Fighters - but they really do. I saw them at Glastonbury 2017 and could just not get into it. But there were THOUSANDS of people there that were in rock and roll heaven.

I love his drumming - Nirvana, QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures - and I love Probot.

But the Foo Fighters? Boringville.

I loved the first FF album when it came out and for probably mostly nostalgic reasons I still do.

Wasn't the beginning of the breakdown between Buzz and Dave on the last Nirvana tour in Europe when Dave got all excited and wanted to come out and do double drums on Night Goat or something but he pretty much blew that off?  Didn't Buzz also complain that they were only getting paid a few hundred bucks a night while Nirvana were getting paid arena bucks?

Around the 1:45 mark Dale talks about it.

So he did play with them.  Guess I haven't seen that interview in years.  Wonder if any footage exists
