Yet again, the Melvins smash forward into another year. Buzz has already stated another album is already done. The band has said an expanded version of Melvins+Napalm Death will be released.

What are tour guesses for what Melvins will do in 2026? What will the lineup be? Where will they tour? What LPs, EPs, singles, comps will be released?!!!

I'm not sure that the new album is finished unless they stated so recently. Last Summer Buzz said he had most of the material planned out and would record in late 2025 after the tour as a four piece with Coady. But then last month I saw a new interview with Steven who said they were recording in January. So I guess they are deep into that right about now. Probably to be released towards the back end of the year maybe?

Alex-

They are playing the Sick New World festivals in may and october. My guess there will be US tours around those dates. Hopefully europe again too at some point this year.

the bloat

Melvins seem to release a live record every 5 to 6 years so we're prob due for one with Bad Mood Rising and Tarantula Heart material. The only problem is they don't play enough of that material live to actually record anything. Maybe an EPs worth...

Half tempted to fly out for the one in Texas.  Slayer celebrating 40 years of Reign In Blood makes me feel old.  I haven't done a festival since Psycho Las Vegas 2019, and cramming all these bands in one day makes me a bit hesitant.

Wow it's just one day? That likely means short sets and clashes. One of the reasons I haven't been to a festival myself for years.

I got the Ipecac newsletter mail today, and it said they are working on more dates and music.

I would rather be old now, and have grown up out of the 1980's/1990's than be born in todays generation of kids.

Listened to a new Coady chat last night. He said the band were recording the new album in February. So now basically. With the release of the Napalm collab in April, I guess we are now looking at a late 2026 release. Oct/Nov possibly? Another year with two Melvins albums?

so the double drum thing should go on
