and I mean "extreme" as in slowest, heaviest, most painfully pleasant dirges the Melvins have made.

My vote goes to "Charmicarmicat: Bastards"

NOTHING touches that song. Rumbling, omnimous feedback, pounding drums, slow as all hell, and twisted roars from King Buzzo.

DubEMC

Hag Me is a pretty good example

I love Charmicarmicat. I also think the intro to Lysol is heavy as hell and slow and opressive. When they play Eye Flys live, it is really heavy and slow.
Hail, not fail.
PS:  fuck him.

I liked the one they used in the mountain dew commercial where they snowboard out of an airplane!  That was really extreme.  I think the song was Hag me.
It's all fucking good-dini as far as I'm concerned. Then again, I'd eat a MELVINS deep fried turd. GO MELVINS!!

-Smellis[/i]

Reverend Ebeneezer

Hung Bunny's probably the slowest thing they've recorded as a band but Joe Preston's 'Hands First Flower' from the solo record takes the biscuit really in terms of sloth...
Don't cut me!DON'T CUT ME!
-Thrones, Simon Legree live...

It was those shows i saw back in dec.-92  -  jan.-93.  An evening with the melvins - 2 sets - Lorax on Bass.  Wow!  whatever they were playing  it was like nodding out on a Phat hit of Smak (maybe?  cuz  actually  i've never done that part - the nodding out - well..., maybe once or twice - by accident)  so anyway that's how sludgey it was.
My vote for most extreme goes the other way entirely as far as the tempo is concerned - it's "Lovely Butterflies"  I just love that song and i've been lucky enough to see buzz do it a few times, the last time was the best -  which is one of the things i love about the melvins - and thae last time was the 20th anny show at thew Capitaol theatre in olympia.
Hey Grim - are you going to the new years show(s)?  if so - Dood let's negotiate for a copy of thatr show?  Do a pop or 2 before the show?
 Hey ya!

anaconda

Charmicarmicat and Bloated Pope are similar to me
when I'm stoked on finest of herb

anaconda

to stay on topic though,  Lovely Butterflys from Electroretard is noisy

zium

i always thought goggles was a pretty extreme song with the distorted WHAAA and that creepy guitar riff

groundmeat

I vote for Charmicarmicat. It's the only song that literally gives me headaches.

Hmmm... COD can be very spooky at the right times, and just plain irritatiing otherwise - but it doesn;t sound like soundtrack to sawing people's limbs off like Charmicarmicat does
