This was my 7th time seeing the melvins in the past 3
years, and probably one of my favorites. The set was
definatly better then any of the other shows i've been
to. I was very suprised at the song selection tonight,
and don't wanna spoil it for anyone...but HOLY SHIT,
the set blew me away.

Gene, I think i'll see ya tomorrow...It's gonna be
hard to pass that up.

Tomahawk was kinda boring IMO, but I was entertained
by the two chicks infront of me, atleast.

I agree, that was the best show I've seen them do in a few years, although short. They've seemed kind of flat, disinterested, and sloppy the last few times I've seen them, but they were kicking ass last night. Dale was fucking MASHING!!! They played a different set than the last few times too. Opened with Lovely Butterflies and finished with just Dale onstage pounding out Black Stooges. Most of the crowd was there for Patton, and I think the Melvins kind of scared them. Some people in front of me actually pushed their way out which just meant that I got closer. BTW, what's the deal with the picture of a carrot in barbed wire on Dale's bass drum? Has that always been there?

Thanks, Cale, for the heads up about no drinking allowed where the bands played (terrbile venue, by the way) so I did a lot prep before the show. Kind of funny, I had an extra ticket which I tried to sell to a group of people outside which included Dale and Mike Patton...needless to say, they didn't need one. I thought Tomahawk was OK. I only caught a few Skeleton Key songs, but they sounded great...lots of cool percussion. I'm pissed that I totally missed Mondo Generator. What kind of venue starts a show at 8:00? Also lots of merch, new shirts, etc. I got Civil War Fantasy for $5!!! All in all, a great evening...it just ended too soon.
