Something that always struck me as a bizarre coincidence was that
this album came out the same summer as the first Austin Powers film,
which brought the song "What The World Needs Now" out of mothballs.
I was working in a butcher shop at the time, where we listened to the
oldies station all day long. I never heard that song, until the film came out
and about a month later, King Buzzo is singing that line, with a different ending:
What The World Needs Now, is wings and the know-how.
Freaky!   Meanwhile, the song entered heavy rotation hell on the oldies station.

Also, we went to a prime rib restaurant in Vegas that summer,
and as we were waddling back to our hotel room, we were repeating the line:
I got a belly full of prime, crawling through my intest-ine!
That never got old.

You know, it may be correlated to the fact that I've been smoking a fair amount of weed for the first time in years, but I've been remembering that this album is truly tits. They All Must Be Slaughtered is ambient bliss... Also... Air breather? Holy fuckin' fuck.
he was a mongoloid.

Totally! It's like a night and day album. Mombius hibachi is the yin to Harry Lauder's Walking Stick Tree's yang. Speaking of Harry Lauder's Walking Stick Tree, it's a real variety of tree which is totally mangled and bad ass.

he was a mongoloid.

I couldn't agree more.
Also turns 20 this year!!
Time to play it live in its entirety.

))))((((

One of my favourite "low key" Melvins songs, or you could say under-rated ones is 'Grin'. I'd love to see the band add this to a live show. Especially with Melvins Lite. I think that would turn out great with the double bass.

Honky is terrific. Timeless album.

I'm surprised to see more people aren't talking about "Lovely Butterfly". I absolutely love that track. Dale played the opening drum part at the show I saw in Fresno right before AMAZON I think. I can't really remember.

I've got a belly full of prime, crawling through my intestine!
I'm just some punk teenager.
