WOW : o I mean holy crap, I've been listening to the melvins for a while, but had never seen them live. I was truly captivated but first- Skeleton Key opened [obviously] and they were interesting none the less. Some of their set seemed crazy, but I guess I didnt have any expectations of a band from Ipecac and knowing some things about them. We werent sure if (since it was The Melvins tour) they would play last, but we sooned learned the truth after a little wait. A blinking blue light of sorts w/ some alarm gave us a warning for something. That was a weird distraction because the band seemed to quickly appear, especially Buzzo. I loved his non-chaulant approach to the mic and guitar. Perfect way for him to get on stage. As for the set, their were a couple songs I didnt know-the first one and one in the middle somewhere(iF ANYONE WAS THERE, maybe you could give me a more ordered set list-thanx) I was feeling every song- so damn ruthless- those melvins- ha. They simply just took my breath away with sucha high level of intensity. I just dont think any band can match the kind of heaviness and attitude, and all with such a unique style. Here is what I can remember,[ bit, revolve, black stooges, foaming, brain center, zodiac, last part of Skin Horse] We saw a little Tomahawk, and all though they did seem interesting at points I wasnt really into what they had to offer. Not terrible-
I would have paid just to see the melvins. mind blown - and I loved every minute.

I thought the show was pretty good. Good setlist, some older stuff played. Still working on setlist actually.. taped the show..
SK was ok... that doofy guy hitting the crap onthe side of the stage needed to go tho.
Watched a few songs of Tomahawk before I split. Patton is crazy.
This show was definetly better than both the Eugene and the Portland shows last year... but the CoD portland show was by far my fav of all the times I have seen them.

It's now to the point in their 20 year career when they are getting lazy. They have played Revolve the last 5 times i have seen them. With so much material at their disposal, why can't they play more than the same fuckin' shit everytime I pay to see them? The last two shows that showed their diversity were "An Evening with the Melvins" '96 and the 2x4 tour '00. The CoD tour with Hank was good because they revisited Lysol, but the HAT tour and the Geek Show were crap. It's been the same basic set for 3 years now. I guess all the fan boys who need to here Revolve and AMAZON over and over again are happy, but that is what jukeboxes are for. Stop ripping me off and maybe play Your Blessened once in a blue moon.
