Pastor Of Muppets

Anaconda we have Black Flag and Godflesh in common. Good start. I haven't got Venomous Concept. Theres alot of cds I can't get my hands on including alot of Melvins cds. I need me one of them there credit cards methinks. Should I buy Colossus of destiny purely to complete the collection or is it humanly possible to enjoy it. I keep reading about how terrible it is. Can someone describe it to me. Is it really just live noise, feedback etc?

Glen If I lived in America I would help a brother like you out definitely. I might even drive you to Seattle and go to the show myself. Unfortunately for you I live in Ireland where Melvins played only once I believe which was the Houdini show a few weeks ago. Other than that Fantomas played here in June where I met Buzz incidentally who was a true gentleman. Glen if you get really stuck go on Jerry Springer or Ricki lake claiming your wife is cheating on you with King Buzzo. That way you get paid, you go to seattle and you get to spend time with Buzz in front of millions of viewers.

It's all that and more. It's noise for sure but it's good and morphs into Eye Flys at the end. It's better than Prick. That's for damn sure.
Rectum? Damn near killed 'im!

pastor.....   you are kind hearted AND a gentleman.  I salute your kindness.  it sounds like you have things worse than I do. maybe I should offer YOU some help. at least I get a show about once a year.
I think you are on to something with this "jerry springer" idea.  although I think it would be more fitting if my wife was having an affair with coco bean(buzz's dog) and she was telling me she was pregnant with their love child. do you think I could take buzz one on one in a chair throwing brawl? we will probably have to go a few rounds on jerry's stage, it's standard procedure.

and may I say again: thank you for your thoughtfullness, you are an outstanding human being.

Pastor, if you weren't anti-mp3 I could hook you up with Colossus, Prick, Honky, Electroretard
and all the other Melviny goodness that isn't readily available or currently in-print. Think about it.

colossus of destiny is fantastic.

it is just noise.  this is true.  but it isn't JUST noise (huh?)
there are lots of samples and basslines and the whole thing really is a 'song' of sorts, with a certian flow and even obvoius meter at times (dare i say it has structure and rhythm?  i think i dare...).  it is like a piece of non-objective art in sound wave form.  i think it's really great.  it is unlike anything you've ever heard the melvins do, in a good way.

what it isn't: a wall of static
what it is: real cool.

get it, you'll like it.  that is, if you're not a total LOSER!!! oooooooo, pressure is on now...!
i kid

Pastor, you can't go wrong with Colossus of Destiny.  i hated it at first.  shelved (sp?) it for a year then brought it back out...i guess i wasn't ready for it.  but yeah, it's sick.  i swear the Melvins are trying to communicate to aliens with this record.  cosmic man.

klump

how the fuck do they do it?
thats what I want to know...therefor voila: http://www.themelvins.net/forum/index.php?topic=4079.0

That seemed like less of a review and more of the guy reading down the tracklist and telling us the names of the songs. I want to hear something critical about this release. Personally, I'm still trying to decide if I like it.
