I think the melvins/kiss thing is kind of a joke though, just from the way they kind of poke fun around it.  I also think that buzz or dale had said at one point in an interview that it was a joke that got blown out of proportion and taken too far or somehting.

Rev is right, Instead of getting their ass sued like with Lysol, they turned it around. Like Kiss or not, they could have bankrupted Melvins and Boner.

We will never know if they did the Solo's out of respect or as a joke, but somehow Gene Simmons concured with allowing them to be sold. Gene Simmons doesn't do anything for free. If it was a joke, and it lead them to warm up for Kiss, and have Gene Simmons share the stage with them, it is a marketing stroke of genius.

I do firmly believe that Buzz has copied the Marketing techniques of KISS. There is always people who try to find every available item Melvins related. KISS has the same appeal to collector.
