Hey guys thanks a ton but I already sent paymentfor the t-shirt, as for money, I'll get the money from the dude either via the crime victims fund after he's convicted and pays a fine and if there's any bills left over I'll just attempt to get it in a civil suit, of course he's already in debt 10's of thousands, but I'll cross that bridge once I come to it.  In the end it is a depressing thought that I could quite possibly pay for being stabbed, but that is more or less America (and capitalist societies in general) in a nutshell.  The government subsidizes companies that can afford to pay wages to single individuals in the millions but they set limits in the aid of legitimate expense of victims of violent crimes.
