Thought I'd start a new one....

Well what a show. Loved seeing dale and Dave at it together! I didn't make a note of the set list..did anyone else? They did play a lot off the millennium monsterworks, but I felt that it didn't realy matter. Especially loved the part where mike was conducting everyone, and Let it all be turning into 'low rider'.

MacBastard

Was awesome, the conducting part was great, as were the gangsta style introductions ('Tossed away like a jacket he's just worn, this cocksucking motherfucker is Mr Buzz Osborne!!' or something like that). Played Spider Baby, but didn't play Joan of Arc.

Haggardsue

who died and made this son of a bitch a motherfucker? Dale crover, more lucky than a 4 leafed clover.

KURDTLUVUR!

Aha, those introductions are great.

..and trevor dunn, the long haired hippie!
it was funny when dale tried to give patton the same sorta introduction - that just sounded crazy! funny as hell though. haha.

well, the evening was kinda ruined for me...

we got there about 7, when the doors were supposed to open, and walked upon a mile long queue. as we walked past the queue, towards the end, we heard what we thought was some drunk yelling "PORN POOOOORN, HAVE SOME PORN". we just ignored the fucker, but then a porn magazine flew down from above and landed just in front of our jesus sandals. we looked up, to see if we could see god between the clouds (cause it was partly cloudy that day), but all we could see, was a big gray afro disappearing in a window.
he kept throwing down pages from porn magazines for almost the whole time we were standing in line. there was this closeup picture where someone had scribbeled "this is real love" or something like that on it. haha.

ever heard of ephel duath(or something like that)? if you haven't - take my advice, and DON'T ! they're even worse than the warm up band melvins had at the electric ballroom gig. the singer looks like a monkey, and it sounded like one loooooong boooooring korn-like (yet more screaming - didn't think it was possible) song. i was happy when it finally ended, but sad that we had to wait for what seemed like hours, to see bigband.

well, anyway, that didn't ruin the night for me, but what did (infact) was that i'd been sick all week, and hardly slept the night before the show. i'd just started to eat again the same day, so i didn't have my regular viking powers to stand at the front + we got there a bit late, so we figured out we should just stand at the back.. and i'm short, so, i NEED to stand at the front to fully enjoy a concert. well, anyway, the concert was great, but i had expected a bit more songs, both fant
i don't have a square to spare. can't spare a square.

Reverend Ebeneezer

Hey again folks, long time no post. Apologies, I suppose...

Anyhow, I was in attendence last night (by the way, if you're reading Scottish chap who I met at the Melvins before, I spotted you but I don't think you saw me)...got into the queue where I was greeted by a Canadian professional gambler who'd come to London specifically for the show, who was kind enough to quench my thirst and buy me beer all night. Needless to say, I was entertained until I got in. The merch table was heaving but now I finally have a shirt with Melvins written on it somewhere...was cheaper than I expected too...

Ephel were utter poo. I think I've seen them live before and mildly enjoyed them but last night they sounded like a spacey Dillinger...songs w' no discernable structure et al.

The BigBand were awesome. I was vaguely near the back but on a balcony and I'm tall so I got a good view. There were way more Melvins songs played than the CD would lead you to believe. Also, Dave Scott Stone should be the new Melvins bassist...he's so fascinating! Patton's conducting was indeed fantastic...I had a neat evening which I'd nearly forgotten was coming...been so out of the loop of late...
Don't cut me!DON'T CUT ME!

Hehe, that porn mag fell down straight in front of me, and when I looked up I saw Buzz looking mischiveously down at me.

I was leaning on a railing when another "big haired" guy almost brushed his head against my face...and it was Shane from Napalm Death! He was just walking around looking kind of pissed off.

It was a reeeealy great show.
I went to London from sweden by myself, just as i did on the Melvins @ KOKO show.
It gets a little boring sometimes, but its worth it for the insanely great shows.
I thought Epel Duath had pretty good songs, except for the singer, i guess id liked it more if i just heard it and didnt see them.
The highlight where Let it all be, one of my alltime favourite melvins songs, to bad they didnt play the second part, the best part.
But low rider was pretty awsome aswell.
Tonight im going to see men of PORN when they support Scissorfight.

Maybe i see some of you guys on PORN tonight, in that case, say hi, Im alone and got pink/red hair and a 'some girls' tee.

Epel Duath were OK as a band.. very tight. But the singer was so up his own arse. When he walked on I thought it was a joke, like something out of spinal tap. walking slow and smooth - disgarding his hat - then slowly grabbing the mike! Infact, when he left the band briefly half way through the set .. that was my favorite bit musically.

Does anyone remember/know the set list yet?

maffymaff

There was a fair old amount of porn flying around outside while queuing up. I never got to see who the mysterious porn thrower was because by the time I

Hello there!
"I also spotted someone filming the show! As far as I could tell there were 2 cameras floating around. There was one guy on the stairs that lead up to the balcony at one point, and there was also someone right at the front too!"
Right at the front was I and filming some of the show I was. It all came out a bit cruddy though, sound was a bit pants, quality was a bit poor as well as only after the show did I find out how to change the resolution on my camera. I will work on getting vids and pics on computer and putting them on here. I got clips of Sacrifice, Hooch, Let it All be and a couple of Fantomas songs I didn't recognise (which I assume must be off Millenium Monsterwork as its the only one I don't own).
Gig was awesome, I saw Winnebago Generator too!! They seem to stalk me, I saw Ben P while I had a wee at the Koko in October. Met them after BB & Bro's (awful) in Milton Keynes. Saw them at the Mudhoney don't look back and shouted hello and also saw them at a Mark Lanegan thing aaaages ago. Bizarre.

steveybabes

I don't think the filming is anything to get excited about..they we're only standard digital cameras opposed to the beefy professional ones they had at the Koko gig. My partner is a bit of a tec wiz, and we always stand behind the mixing desk as you get the best sound, anyway..he noticed they we're (audio) recording the gig, but again this was very basic equipment, so don't expect a live album from this.

maffymaff

I did spot someone on the stairs at one point (which were a no go area) right next to one of the security guys. So my hopes are still pretty high!  :D

Lunica

what, there was someone filming the koko gig?

digital cameras can actually record pretty decent clips! the sound, on the other hand, isnt that good.
but i can film like half an hour with my digital camera, with pretty good quality, clear picture.. not like crappy/blurry ones.
too bad i didnt bring it :(

man, there were tons of people walking around camden the day after the show, with teeth on their chests!
i didn't realize the shirts glows in the dark till the next day. haha
i don't have a square to spare. can't spare a square.

KURDTLUVUR!

What did the shirts/merchandise look like?
