Night Goat; A Poll

Thought it would be interesting to see who the democratic favorite is on Night Goat, one of MELVINS signature bass driven songs.

yeah, who played bass for Night Goat on Houdini? I thought it was Buzz...

Anyway, I just recall that House of Blues video when they launched into Night Goat and the crowd went nuts. Kevin was making one of those weird faces of his, you know the one where it looks like he's chewing his own tongue? Then when the song really explodes he sorta slid a few feet, in the most arhythmic way. It looked so awesome, comically speaking. But the man just plain rocked, no denying him that.

rumor has it.   officially I think its intended to be a mystery. I just threw her in there because she is credited as playing bass on houdini.

like guesswhat said though, in not so many words,   you gotta think about all the other things the bassist brings to the song.  the intro DSS does...  the rumble T. Dunn brings to it....  etc.

the joe preston version is delicious. but trevor's is that like to the power of 2 or something

maybe perhaps if one has seen joe do the song live it will influence your atmosphere.

same with sir dss... did he ever play that song with the melvins on guitar?
id like to hear their sound with two guitarists......i doont think i have any live audio of them with a second on the 6 string

Well they did play the intro to Night Goat live with Kevin on bass and DSS on guitar back in '00, but not the whole song.

after listening to the live houdini night goat...... my opinion is that trevor dunne doesnt do that song justice.... his distortion just seems so..... thin..... and trashy.
what kevin and d.s.s. have done with the song is much better in my opinion......i have yet to listen to the joe preston version however.

hey unky... you got Neither Here Nor There?   pretty damn sure the version on that is Joe.  it would be the single version of it as opposed to the houdini version.
