it's from fear and loathing in las vegas, an excellent movie (based entirely on fact.  see it.), along with his avatar and his user name.  i have seen this movie many times, but for some reason i cannot remember if this is exactly when that line is heard....but i think it is when the two main characters are about to snort some cocaine that they are transporting in a salt shaker inside a convertable with the top down going very fast through the desert, and when "Dr. Gonzo" opens the container of course the coke goes flying away into the breeze, and he turns slowly and says "...look what god did to us, man."  Then Hunter S. Thompson replies, "God didn't do that to us, you weird fucker, YOU did!!" or something very much to that effect.

no its not (based entirely on fact that is) it is an excellent movie though.

well it is based entirely on hunter s. thompson's book, and who's to say how much of that was fiction?  he's a journalist, not a novelist.   He makes note in the book that most of the dialouge and plot at such was taken directly from the tape recorder with the shotgun mic that they are documented purchasing in the film.  why do you say it's not based on fact?  what ground do you hold, sire?

Truman Capote's In cold blood was based on a real story, too, 'cept that Capote made up all of the dialogues and exaggerated (sp?) some of the parts...it's all true, though
