I waited so long to get a copy of Houdini Live (well it seemed like a long time!) and it was the best thing to do. By the time you get your greasy little mits on the cd the excitement is unbearable!

I shall therefore be doing the same with the new album!

It's certainly an interesting buzz (no pun) when you wait. Well it's the most exciting thing in my life at the moment anyway.

the thing is that makes it really painful, is that my friends that aren't into the melvins as much as i am are going to rub it in my face that they've heard it.

so far, i haven't been patient enough to wait for ANY melvins release to come out....starting with HAT (their first new release since I had been into them) I've downloaded every damned cd they've put out as soon as I could get my grubby digital mitts on them.

I wanna wait for this one to come out on October 10.....but I know that ain't gonna happen



i can't wait to see the new artwork by mackie....i've been slightly disappointed with some of her new stuff (altamont cd, houdini live) since it's not quite as erection inducing as stuff like stag or HAT, but i have faith in the O

She does for the most part but she's very honest about what she thinks and I usually only play things for her once I get it more figured out. Her input in our music is on the art end. We talk over art stuff all the time. It's great. Our record covers are VERY planned out to the smallest detail. They are perfect for what we are doing even if most people don't even notice.

So, really, you just don't notice what they are doing

I won't wait, that "builing excitement" shit is for the birds. That's precoius hours of my life I could be hearning new MELVINS music that I'm not. I get the same excitement rush waiting ofr it to D/L. Plus, I get 98 % of the music I buy from my friends record store and I have in the past been in the position where I had to let him sell my copy and wait a couple of days to get my own. I'd rather feel free to let some other MELVINS fan get there hands on it and help out a friend.

Just don't D/L instead of buying it altogether, 'cause that's bullshit.

I am going to attempt to receive a promo from Ipecac of the Melvins' new album for a review in Vital Weekly. It is a free weekly emailed music review zine of experimental music. I doubt I will have success though.

Cool. It looks like I made some headway. They referred me to their publicist. I asked for promos of anything they want to send. I now await the publicist's reply. Hopefully they will send the Melvins new album when it is nearly ready.
