If you read the Wikipedia Melvins entry you are well aware of the controversy over weather it's The Melvins or just Melvins. I thought it was frivolous as hell but I did find it interesting.

The fact that the new release, henceforth known as (A)SA, proves someone in the Melvins camp reads our discussions. And you think our discussions are nonsensical bullshit. 

I can't wait for the tour.

i don't know if i like it......

the parentheses around THE are o.k., but i don't want to see that become a trend.  i don't like bands with gimmicky names, and i've always appreciated that about the Melvins.  carrying the parentheses to the A seems a bit overdone to me.  you know what i mean? there's sort of this indie-ish zine-style to put stuff in parentheses and i never liked it.
aside from that, i'm not impressed by the cover.  i am glad to see that it looks nothing like any other melvins cover, so it will fit in perfectly with a history of misalignment.  that i dig.  but the art itself doesn't phase me.      for a second it reminded me of primus..........eep


i'll have to hold it in my hands to see for real, i guess.
