Right now I am really liking Blood Witch and History of Bad Man. Blood Witch vocals remind me of Kiss. This is a solid album all the way through.

That song will totally grow on you. I must be honest, I didn't think the vocals worked very well on that song but after listening to it more it works perfectly.
I also love how the album ends with that song and starts back at track 1 (if your c/d player automatically does this). That transition kicks ass.

This album is awesome, that's all there is to it. Also I noticed Blood Witch has a slight resemblence to Bloated Pope.

I am truly conflicted about this. Is this their best album to date? Or is it still too soon to say? Best to let it stew for a little bit before saying it is.

And yeah, the new LP kills.  The thing I like about it is that it's pretty straightforward and all uptempo.  I just like the fact that they nearly never repeat themselves.  However, if I were to compare it, I'd say musically it reminds me most of Stoner Witch, but is completely free of "non rock" for a lack of a better term.

I'm gonna throw in my two cents and say that no, it's not their best to date.  In the upper echilon for sure though.

So far I've heard everyone about the resemblance between Bad Men and Night Goat, but there are some more obvious resemblences to me, like that one indeed. The intro of Civilized Worm still reminds me of Hooch.

With the Melvins it's hard to have a favorite album. My top 3 used to change all the time, nowadays I rather speak of a top 25+. Deep in my heart I think Gluey is the favorite of all of ours, we all give the Bootlicker a very special place in our hearts, Honky, Lysol, Ozma, Bullhead.. Anyway, I'm glad ASA is growing on me, it took me a while but I'm starting to love it. But A History Of Bad Men is by no means my favorite track; I love the first seven tracks much better actually.
