That needs archived in the new melvins.net wiki immediately. One of the best interviews with Buzz I've read.

I can't think of too many bands who are putting out music 20 years after their formation that stands up to their first few albums.
But as far as I can tell the Melvins are as good, if not better than ever.  Keep on rockin Buzz and Dale!

damn.   I guess buzz has decided to start filling in the blanks instead of saying, for example: "he is no longer in the band, my choice.... you fill in the blanks."       etc.

the irratation of the same questions over and over and over and over finally got to him.  but I like the way the interviewer presented his questions. not as a question, but as a statement.  he just lays a topic on the table and lets buzz say whatever he wants.

..or maybe they DID ask questions,  and this is why buzz seems irratated.

Buzz irritation is more than justified.  It's his band, why shouldn't he be able to do whatever he wants with it?

I find myself having the same thoughts aswell, glen.

But when it comes down to it buzz could be making dick and fart jokes all the time and I'd still love the melvins.

I guess I don't get that people.  you are correct, it IS his band (and dale's).  therefore he is entirely entitled to make any decisions he would like.  but why does that justify irratation?   has someone told him "you can't fire rutmanis" or "you can't hire big business"?   not that I am aware of.   people might express their opinion that they wish kevin was still in the band, but who told him he has no right to fire kevin? (for example)

I guess the only thing that justifies his irratation is the fact that he might be sick of hearing the same questions over and over.  but that is the same with any band, isn't it?   you think no one asks dave grohl about cobain? or no one asks mudhoney about 'seattle grunge'?   kinda comes with the territory of being a professional musician on a global scale.   I see why that would become irratating,  but justifyably?  I don't know...

but speaking on a personal level... I really don't care.  it doesn't bother me at all that buzz seems irratated in this interview.   actually I find it very entertaining and amusing.

Well said and I agree.  Yeah, you're just gonna have to deal with certain questions if you're in that kind of position.  I guess my main point was that his apparant frustration is no surprise.  I was personally very bummed when Kevin wasn't in the band anymore (him being one of my favorite bass players of all time, and being an enourmous Cows fan), but I still buy every Melvins record as soon as I can get my hands on it.  As long as Buzz continues to top off my turntable with amazing rock, I don't care about anything else.
