(A) Senile Animal

Guys, I tried to enjoy this album but I failed.

None of it clicked. I'm not sure what has happened but it just felt so empty - and I strongly doubt that having the actual article in my hand and being able to enjoy the predictably brilliant artwork would've made any difference.

I still feel that Pigs is the best recorded thing they've done this side of 2000 (the absolute best being the UK Cameron Jamie tour - they have NEVER sounded as jaw-droppingly awesome as they did then) but I'm starting to think that they just aren't doing it for me anymore.

I wish they'd have done something radical, taken some real risks. The thing sounded old. That's not right.

I think buzz once said something along the lines of "you lose some fans to age or evolution and you gain some new fans to discovery. it all equals out."

I dig this album but I will admit it is slightly conservative compared to some of the things they've done.  like all melvins albums, you have to appreciate it for what it is. not what you expected out of it. 
I give you points for honesty though grach.

if every single person on this board said they thought this album was a masterpiece then someone would be lying.

I'm still holding out for October. I just can't bring myself to listen to the leaks. Maybe I'm old-school, but waiting til release date is how I like to roll. Nothing against anyone who wants to listen to the leaks, mind you.

I listened to Civilized worm pretty much as soon as it was posted it's awesome.
I'm looking forward to the 10th of October so fucking much, I think it's going to be the best thing they've released in AGEESSSSSSS.
