My question from before remains though, don't the Melvins play encores?

no.  not anymore.   they play an almost mechanical set.  song for song.  night in and night out.    at the end of that 15 (or whatever) song set the night is over.   come applause, come riots, come looting, come fire,  the night is over.

Rev. Mike

I wish they were playing in MInnesota, no Grumpy's shows this spring has me grumpy.

One more question for the crowd, Jared ended with singing accompanied by marching drums, which song was that? Or was that something they've made up themselves? Sounded Queenish to me. Which is positive.

I think they added Night Goat to the set at the end of last years US tour.  They didn't play that at the beginning did they?  I know they played it in Portland and Seattle.

But other then that, they never mix it up.  Which is ok, they play what they play, and they have it down to a 'T'.

and one more thing,   that sounds more like Big Business ending instead of MELVINS ending.

Yep, that's The Bit. Just for geeks, Mastodon does a pretty good cover version.

I must not be a geek because I think the Mastodon version is CRAP!   then again, I think ANY melvins cover is CRAP.
give me the real deal or give me nothing.

I must say I agree, and not just because this ugly prick has my name, but because the bastard is missing one n. Only faggots are named Glen with one n, it means valley, like a crease.

All those bands on the tribute album are embarrassing. Spineshanks, slipspines, spineknot, shankguage, etc.. Hacks, for sure.

The only cover I like is the Shevil one, and I think I was really drunk and stoned when I enjoyed that. Meatjack? Fuck, embarrassing, but I did like that one.

look KHORDE, I suggest you shape up and get your head on straight, and SOON!  my patience with your tom-foolery is running thin.

(if you took THAT seriously then at this point I am at a complete loss.   :D)

actually dude,  my only point was that Another Fourth Of July Ruined is a Big Business song and NOT a MELVINS song. it was the song Big Business ended with, then merging into the MELVINS set.  just wanted to make sure you understood it is a BB song.

(my reply wasn't that serious either ;) im ON WITH THE PROGRAM)

And i realize what your saying, but they didnt end with that song before the melvins set begun, they ended the melvins set with jared singing that song alone to the crowd.

Or...maybe we just fail at understanding eachother.

ohhhhh no.  I think the communication line is quite clear.  so the MELVINS ended their set with a BB song,  good enough for me.
assuming we are talking about the same song.

I'm just thankful you've been decent enough to share with us your experience and memories of the show.  have a nice day khordy.

you didn't think I was going to let this slip by did you?

dust...  buddy....  I'm shocked.     ugly?  prick?     bastard?       faggot??

I got feelings, you know.  and I'm the sensitive sort.      you expect me to take all this on my shoulders going into a holiday weekend?       maybe you don't realize the vulnerability I feel missing that "n".  I'm feel almost naked and exposed.  and YOU gotta go and kick me while I'm down.    wait till the other glen(n)'s hear about this.   we might collectively decide to yank that extra "n" of your's and knock you down a rank.           I think an apology is in order.

(god love ya dust!  when we going fishing?   :D)

When I saw them in Aarhus in Denmark in '95 they played "Sacrifice" and "Nasty Dogs" as encores. The day aften in Copenhagen they didn't play any encores. Shame.

Anyway, I'm going to see Melvins tonight in Copenhagen, and Thrones tomorrow in Aarhus. Simply thrilled, honey.
To be afraid when you are alone, in the dark, faced with the unknown, the unspeakable; that is understandable fear. To be afraid, mortally afraid, in broad daylight, in a crowded city street, that is to know Melvins.
