we've been hollerin' about this melvins "(a) senile animal" project for a while, but it's really, finally, truly nearing completion.  in the next 2-3 weeks it will also be available as part of "(a) senile animal" box set, which will also include a 4 x LP vinyl version of the album of the same name and a fancy-schmancy melvins belt buckle. this shit is gonna be amazing - which sort of goes without saying since it involves the unholy trinity of hydra head, the melvins, and tom neely. we'll be doing some sort of party for the release of the box set with our friends in LA at the highly esteemed  secret headquarters comic shop. more details on that and the exact release of the box set soon. the 4 x LP, belt buckle, and comic book will be available individually through the HHR webstore (and select retail outlets) for those of you that somehow mistakenly believe you don't need the super-deluxe-totally-fucking-awesome box set.

Except it's usually the hipster douchebags wearing shirts short and tight enough to show off their massive belt buckles.

I wear belts, but there's no point in attaching a giant buckle to it unless I'm going to wear shirts 2 sizes too small and tuck them into the front of my pants, which would just make me look stupid.

Any idea what the vinyl will be limited to?   I doubt I'll have the money to purchase this on release, but I want it so fucking bad

This is interesting. Not only disinterest but anger about the belt buckle. First of all has anyone seen the belt buckle? And what's the point of a Melvin's belt buckle? OK...what's the point of a fetus in a jar? or a tooth paperweight? , or the trick and riddle book?, or Colossus of Destiny?, or Buzz's hair?, or Buzz's lyrics?, or even the point of ASA on vinyl? That's what I thought. You wait. In the not so distant future there will be many posts dedicated to "I wish I had that belt buckle, that's what my collection is missing", or "I'm the best Melvin's fan ever, that belt buckle on my trophy shelf cinches it." You wait.

could be, but those amrep singles a couple of years ago also were sold without the artwork. so more might not be signed.

when we did an interview with buzz in krems he told us that there will be 2 diff versions of the boxset, 1 "regular" version and 1 limited version, so maybe the limited version is the one with 300 copies...?
