Lysol art (coveR)

Looks like the Beach Boys used the same image of a Native American on horseback.
I saw some documentary tour footage from the late '70s on Youtube.
The Beach Boys logo is shown behind Mike Love at around 2mins into the clip.
Is this a famous piece of art?  Does anyone know?

It's the logo for Brothers Records. The image itself is a painting based on a sculpture by Cyrus Edwin Dallin named "Appeal to the Great Spirit".

Excellent thread by the way, it's my favourite album cover.

It's one of many he painted based on a bronze statue he cast called "Appeal to the Great Spirit"

this painting can be seen hanging behind frank black in a later-series episode of MILLENIUM . . .

i fucking nearly vomited with amazement when i saw it . . .

those who have seen MILLENIUM would get why . . . it simply doesnt fit . . .
