around 50:25 it get mentioned after a question about Fantomas but don't expect any particular secret being revealed,  it just seems from his reply that he considers very difficult to work with Patton and that the cancellation of Mr. Bungle and FNM gigs doesn't surprise him too much

Cheers thanks for that. I probably shouldn't comment without listening yet but that is pretty telling in itself basically a shot at Patton's professionalism or lack of.

I know Buzz took all the photos for the Bungle reunion stuff and obviously the Melvins are still on Ipecac but I do remember reading somewhere that at one point Buzz and Patton didn't speak for years.

Yeah, seems like Buzz is just right with Trevor and Greg Werkman (who both seem to be stand-up gentlemen.) I bet after the Crystal Fairy debacle Buzz has no patience for those who cancel gigs.

yes, and do not forget the K. Rutmanis affair back in the days. also I had the feeling that Buzz would have worked a lot harder with Fantomas, both live and on studio. I appreciate this side of Buzz a lot, he's a true professional

I remember Buzz saying he really liked the Fantomas stuff and wanted to do more of it. Around the time Fantomas kind of ended in a recording sense Patton started Peeping Tom not long after which was clearly an attempt by him to re-enter the mainstream and when that failed not long after that he agreed to do the FNM reunion.

I do remember Buzz making a few uncomfortable remarks directed towards Patton at a Fantomas show in 2009 saying something like "he's got a big announcement to make...he's going to commit suicide!". About two weeks after that show FNM announced their reunion.

yes and no. Buzz is highly professional in constant touring and not cancelling gigs, he's always 'present' but at the same time he burns a few bridges by not keeping certain things to himself e.g. the Dave Grohl and Patton stories he told on his 2014 solo tour.

Okay I just watched what he said about Patton and yeah that didn't sound too good. Talking about FNM and Bungle having to cancel stuff and how frustrating Patton can be to work with and him dealing with a number of personal issues at the moment. Doesn't sound too good at all.

first of all I hope Patton gets well soon. I think he's a very prolific artist, involved with many different projects. I think Buzz doesn't feel this work ethic. to start a project and then to put it on hiatus,  concentrating on something totally different. on the other side, keeping things super busy doesn't necessairly mean quality.
we all think about Fantomas as a cult band because they released just a few (killer) albums

"whiskey" appears more than once on 'Tonic Immobility' which I previously speculated might be a double entendre for some sort of alcoholic depression.
That's actually rather astute and makes sense. It wouldn't surprise me thinking about it.

I'm real curious to find out what's really going on with him because FNM pointed out how shitty they were having to cancel all their shows in September after they had already been rehearsing for a couple of weeks. That's how you know shit's gone down.
I wonder if we will ever get a proper explanation. I imagine not but as a fan would like to.

That's what i thought was a bit odd. Those photos Buzz took for Mr Bungle are pretty recent so it seems a bit weird. I think we all know that Buzz really isn't the messing around kind of guy. As he says himself "envision and execute" - he just gets down to business with no room for nonsense or bullshit. I can imagine how frustrating it would be for someone like that to come up against road blocks of any nature.

Most definitely. He has mentioned a few times that he would like to do more with Fantomas but that it was Patton's thing and he didn't see it happening. A shame all round as far as i see it.

It really doesn't does it. I think i may have mentioned this before, but in a way i am surprised about this with Patton. Obviously no one knows how things are going behind the facade or in a persons private life, but Mike always struck me as fairly sensible like Buzz. Someone who wasn't prone to the trappings of rock stardom.

Yes, if they came out with something new and terrible it would disappoint me a lot. It sort of ended on a perfect note with the Bugs Bunny line at the very end of 'Suspended Animation' too.

I think too this by Buzz kind of lends itself towards some sort of substance abuse by Patton. If it were purely mental issues as frank as Buzz can be I doubt even he would be calling him frustrating to deal with, that kind of language suggests a lack of professionalism as evidenced by his sympathetic tone towards FNM and Bungle.

I should add I remember when Peeping Tom did their Australian tour in mid-2007 they had another bunch of dates in the UK right after but once the Aus tour finished, they immediately cancelled the rest of their shows and they flew straight back to the US with Ipecac saying Patton was exhausted. That was the end of Peeping Tom. It always struck me as a bit unprofessional by Patton and I always wondered if something was up with him then.

Couldn't have put this any better.
Patton's absolutely dedicated to his art. Just look at the man's discography. Who else has tons of super weird experimental stuff on his resume while being in one of the most commercially successful rock bands on the planet the way he does?

"Hang Up" from Psychopticotic compilation on AmRep. Can't believe not only had I never heard the song, but never even heard about the release! I must have been busy when this came out...
