OK, Zebulon Pike were really good, Helmet were good but I would have enjoyed it more 15 years ago, they did play their song off the Judgment Night soundtrack which was funny since Jared had what I call his Boo-Yaa Tribe braids going which had reminded me of said soundtrack.  Page (Paige?) thanks the Melvins, remarked that they were an influence on him, and how they first played together in like 1990 all packed into the same van, also how the rest of Helmet were like 7 when Ozma came out and they asked him, "Uncle Page, who are we playing with now?" or something like that.

Show fucking rocked, no Cody, just Jared, which meant that the tempo was up for most of the show, History of Drunks was like a hardcore song, Hog Leg was pretty fucking fast too.  Basically, Melvins came out and just played it through, but didn't phone it in, they did it with passion and killed, I really enjoyed the set a lot, couldn't have asked for much more.  Dale was downing Tums before the set, Buzz in the black Mumu, Jared in like a bedsheet with a belt, crowd was into it, I'm fucking happy, didn't even mind not ebing able to leave for almost 7 hours.  I gotta give Haze XXL a lot of credit for putting this together year after year, he rules.  Wes turned out a great cover for the Melvins/H*O*F split, it's Alice Cooper's eyes.  Anyway, good times.

Awesome review, History Of Drunks twice as fast sounds like it'll be fucking cool.  Hope they keep playing it that way.

He had a prior personal engagement that was known about for a long time, this was the only Saturday that worked to schedule it though so they had to play without him.

The highlight for me was Hog Leg for sure, it's my favorite melvins song and it is the first time I've gotten to see them play it live. Interviewing them was also a real treat. I have all three seven inches they were selling, each one came with a cd that has all the tracks from all three seven inches on it.

They haven't played it live since 1999 and i couldn't go see them that year due to school. The first year I saw them was in 97 and then I saw them in 98 too but they didn't play it those years either. At least not at the shows I was at.

when i saw them in 97 they did it here and in memphis, but they weren't using a set list. i asked them for one in memphis but all i got was a paper plate with "melvins" and "?" written on it.

Yeah when I saw them in 97 they were opening for Tool, so in a sense it doesn't even really count.

yeah i'm pretty sure its the only song they've played every show since 1999 other than the special album only/cameron jamie shows
