I finally got a response from him through GP.  He said I'd have it by Saturday.  I still haven't seen it.

STILL waiting!  I just sent him an email, requesting a refund.  Ridiculous to have to wait that long.  I understand getting backed up in work, but it isn't that tough to roll up a poster and ship it.

I have exactly two Melvins posters, and I finally got around to bringing them in to be framed. Who knew that posters you pay $15 for end up costing over $100 to frame? Well, okay I knew it would be around that much, but still pretty pricey.

Just do it yourself.  For the most part, paying a framer, you're paying for the mat.  american frames.com, ikea, or even craft stores have decent priced frames.

Yea, they're spendy.  I paid a lot to frame the Israel velvet poster.  It's the only one I've had professionally done.  The rest sit in cheapo frames.


One word of advice.  Don't use the really cheap frames that have the four plastic sides you slide off if you plan on hanging them.  If they fall, those things let the plastic covering take most of the force, and they will crack, most certainly ripping your poster.  I found that out from experience

Just do it yourself.  For the most part, paying a framer, you're paying for the mat.  american frames.com, ikea, or even craft stores have decent priced frames.

I'm going to try that next time.

Sure, I'll post some, but they're nothing to get creamed over.  Hanz's frame for the israel poster is really nice, and fits the poster.  An old photographer from flipside had some mark ryden prints framed with custom carved frames that were works of art by themselves- excellent combos.

With silkscreens, just remember to use mats, or spacers, so that the print doesn't touch the glass/plastic; otherwise you might get paint transfer on the glass.

I like it a lot.  I spent over 30 minutes looking at different frames for it.  the lady was getting a little agitated with me, but shit, I wanted something nice for the price.

Definitely.  I had to use spacers on that one, to avoid crushing the velvet.
