Now ask him how much he paid for it all.

Probably around 250ish.

$250 ish, so that means you really spent $300....that's like $50 bucks a poster for 6 posters that just came out & probably cost a quarter of that at the show & yeah, I would probably do the same thing if I had a few extra bucks.....except for the grey skull one, that one is just ugly. :D

The posters were about $50 at the show.  Which is really unbelievable.

no way,wtf,really?,damn.

Only the two Seattle posters were $50.   The others ranged from $20-25.  At the shows anyway.

whats the deal with MELVINS trying to squeeze every dime out of us poor, down-on-our-luck pockets lately.    if a MELVINS item sells well next thing you know they start jacking prices.

I mean... I see their chain of thought and its no different from a chain of thought that I might have if I were holding something of value to someone else.   but they're walking a fine line.  especially in today's economy.

I think they were a bit more because of the 25th anniversary aspect.

glen

still though... do you think it cost them anymore to have those manufactured?

I'm guessing no.  so the justification still has a hard time floating.

I'm not saying I wouldn't want one, becuase I would.  but FIDDY?!?!
ouch.
by the time you bought your tik, a few beers, a poster possibly and a cool t-shirt if they got one you've got over $100 sunk into the evening.

on the other hand..  if you were going to see TOOL you'd have likely more than half that hundred pissed away by the time ticketmaster was done with you.

so.. LONG LIVE MELVINS!!!   (does anyone have an address where I could mail a donation to the MELVINS FOUNDATION?)

The two Seattle posters and the NY poster were $50 each, the angryblue one was $30, the Jay Ryan was $20 (which is a kick ass deal.  The poster is awesome, it's big, and Jay Ryan rules), the Zoltron was $45 (but it's also a sticker), so yeah with shipping and such easily $250.

Also, that's just what the market will command for the posters (plus the ones at the show were signed by the bands).  I believe the Buzz poster completely sold out by the second night.  There were very few of the Ament (dinosaur) left and Justin (swampviking) sold out of those at secretserpents in short order (and it was on a rising price scale.  The first few were $50, then they went up to $70, then $100 and sold out no problem.)  It kind of sucks for the poor "true" fan that just wants a memento from the show, but I could probably get twice as much as I paid for the the Seattle & NY posters very easily (not that I'm ever going to sell them).

Got it from AngryBlue.  He did that for the Ding Dong show in Australia.  I just got the uncolored version.

He had taken forever to get me a poster about a year ago, so I finally told him to refund my $$.  I mentioned it on GP, he felt bad about it and wanted to make it up to me, so he included it with another poster I bought.  I'm glad he did.  I wanted to be able to order more without wondering if I'd ever get them.   He does awesome work.  I'll order from him again.

I will eventually frame the other six in their own frames.
