ayyyy yo poster question board members: when you buy a print/poster at a show do you roll it up or not?? 2nd question do you buy it first thing with having to carry it around all night or do you wait til the end of show, with the chance you might not get 1? (as ive learned over the years that you never wait til' the end of the show to buy a poster, mainly b/c its gonna sell out before the show even starts)

and on a side note: 2015 melvins show at the wonder, walsby was kind enough to hold my print for me behind the merch booth until end of show- i graciously handed him a $5 tip as i left

Keep your posters flat after you get them.  The less carrying around of posters at a show, the better.

Most of the places the Melvins play here have an in/out policy.  I buy the poster, roll it, put in tube, and take it out to my car.  I flatten it out at home and I always store them flat.  Too long in a tube and they take forever to flatten.

i feel that most venues around pdx have re-entry however the wonder and roseland do not, and it seems like melvins play those A LOT.

I roll them then flatten them out at home or if they're the standard 18by24 I'll grab a frame at Michaels and frame them the next day. There's really not an issue with rolling them unless you get it too tight and crimp it. If you have a nice sized empty table you can lay it out and flatten it. Brian Walsby has been nice enough to let me pay for one and pick up after the show for the price of a beer a few times. For FNM at Webster Hall last year they let you prepay and pick it up after the show, that was kind of a cluster fuck but it sucks carrying a poster around during a show. Between gig posters and one sheets I'm starting to run out of wall space.
