LIKE CHOCOLATE AND PEANUT BUTTER: TOM NEELY vs THE MELVINS

From HH blogs

we've been hollerin' about this melvins "(a) senile animal" project for a while, but it's really, finally, truly nearing completion. above are some images of the "your disease spread quick" comic, inspired by the music of the melvins, written and drawn by tom neely , published by robotic boot (a subdivision of hydra head industries). the comic is making its debut at tom neely's table at san diego comic con this weekend, as well as on the merch table on the current melvins/big business tour. in the next 2-3 weeks it will also be available as part of "(a) senile animal" box set, which will also include a 4 x LP vinyl version of the album of the same name and a fancy-schmancy melvins belt buckle. this shit is gonna be amazing - which sort of goes without saying since it involves the unholy trinity of hydra head, the melvins, and tom neely. we'll be doing some sort of party for the release of the box set with our friends in LA at the highly esteemed secret headquarters comic shop. more details on that and the exact release of the box set soon. the 4 x LP, belt buckle, and comic book will be available individually through the HHR webstore (and select retail outlets) for those of you that somehow mistakenly believe you don't need the super-deluxe-totally-fucking-awesome box set.
did i mention my birthday is coming up? :D

Who is going to an upcoming show and is willing to pick up a copy for me? I'm willing to pay on forehand, no problem. Please send me a PM if you want to help me out.

EDIT. Hm, so the comic book is part of that (A)SA box set, eh? So there's no way to buy the comic book only?

From the looks of the Hydra Head blog on Myspace it sounds like the comic book will be available separately at the Hydra Head webstore. I'm sure there will be a couple of them available at the merch booth if they aren't already. Anyone seen the comic yet?

cara

It was for sale at the Seattle show for $5.  Short, but well drawn. The art is awesome.

In the back of the comic book it mentions a signed and numbered edition of 300 included in the Senile Animal box set, so I guess we know how many of those there will be.

glen

anyone have any interest in me scanning the whole thing and posting it?

it can be done.

I wondered that too.  I know the creator (tom neely) knows better than that.

don't use that posted page as an example of what its like though.  that is the back cover. its more like the pics posted early in this thread.   very little text.  all (A)SA lyrics.

I'll get the whole thing up here in a little while.

My fave is the double page of History of Drunks, and History of Bad Men all in one scene.

okay so i didn't get it done.

this thing is a little longer than I recalled.  its going to take me awhile but I'll chip away at it.
I got two pages scanned last night. more tonight.
plus the damn thing doesn't fit on my scanner double paged (if you follow me) so I have to do one single page at a time.
