the bloat

Quote"Nude With Boots" is the anomaly, a song which seems to have a melodic joyous tone unlike almost all the records before or after. It's only in the pleated and collapsed rhythms, the length of riff, and the eventual doomy resolution that it's clearly and unequivocally Buzz.

I always thought Nude with Boots was a Dale song. Kinda sounds like he's on vocals for the verse. Probably a Buzz / Dale hybrid...

))))((((

Interesting that in a new podcast, Buzz said he recorded the whole of 'Nude With Boots' and all the overdubs with his old Les Paul which he also used on 'Ozma'. Laughing that no one noticed.

))))((((

Listening again to NWB, i always forget about that short little instrumental interlude that is added onto the very end of 'Suicide In Progress'. It always takes me by surprise!

))))((((

Just wanted to say that The Smiling Cobra is a really great Melvins song. A very overlooked one too! I was going to say it's a modern Melvins classic, but at almost 15 years old i suppose that doesn't really count now.
