ya, they addressed it with the trilogy:

Mark Deutrom = The Crybaby
Matt Lukin = The Maggot
Joe Preston = The Bootlicker

I never realized that.
and the order of the albums coincide with the order the bassists were in the band.
It's good to know they've kind of reconciled with Kevin, and I get the feeling they're not really on bad terms with Lori. granted, probably no contact, but probably not as bad as Matt, Joe, and Mark.

Metalhead Cow

A Senile Animal=Lori
Nude With Boots=Kevin

That seems fitting

That's fascinating. They should do a Kevin one called The Returner.  :D

Is Mark on bad terms with Dale and Buzz?
Sorry to change the subject
there's a mark d interview during the release of one of his albums where he seems very apologetic to buzz and dale, offering out olive branches.

Rutmanis would weird me the fuck out with his facial expressions and the way he contorted around onstage. REALLY liked his bass playing both on H.A.T. and for live performances though. Had never seen someone rock slide bass before him (i.e. see how pretty, see how smart). Had never thought much about why he isn't in the Melvins anymore; probably because they seem to generally go the route of the disposable bassist.

I have to admit at times I've been a little on the fence concerning my feeling towards good ole Mr. Rutmanis. He almost always looks like he could use a shower and shave! but more Importantly why would he leave Tomahawk??? Anyhow these petty things are really of no consequence and if anything my failed attempt at humor. In all seriousness tho, I just listened to The Fool 45 on my system with the awesome speakers and had a realization:  "Holy fuck his bass line during the quiet part where Buzz's vocals come in is off the hook". I've always loved this song but must have overlooked how great the bass line is. Kevin Rutmanis and H.A.T. are both the shit!!!

I always thought that Mike and the boys just recorded Anonymous without telling Kevin. I thought it kind of just happened like this.

Pretty weak if it was like that.

The world needs musicians like Shannon Selberg, Rutmanis etc.. to be making music.

First of all, I am pretty darn sure that is Coady in the photo. Hard to tell, but I think it's him.

Second, Tomawho? Tomawhat? Let's get down to brass tax and talk about what's important here:

Well, from the recent photos I have seen, Kevin is looking a lot healthier these days.  If any one bass player could or would be taken back for another EP or whatever, surely it would be him.  Right? Right guys?  [-o< He does look like he's cleaned up.... that's...the most important part.

No jinxin, but Dale did mention a lot of upcoming projects with special guests (beyond the three line-ups and splits that we already know about  ) in that Metal Sucks interview from earlier this year. I'm looking forward to ungodly amounts of new material as well as a lot of surprises. I can only cross my fingers that Kevin can take a part in this awesome awesome awesome time to be in the Melvins Army.  If not...life goes on.

Also.THIS.

I only know what it says on Wiki....that he left during Anonymous and reasons were unknown. If they did that to him then that is messed up, but maybe it's because he was messed up at the time?

Isn't that a Jay Z song?  :P... and I only brought Tomawhatsitsface up because if it was Kevin's choice to leave then I would question his judgement and mental stability at that particular point in time. I'm glad to hear he is healthier and I hope they do a single together. Even if they don't...Maggot and HAT are two of the best albums the Melvins have ever put out and nobody can ever take that away from him.
(Unless Patton has Ipecac change the credits on the CD cover )

Hey man, I like Tomahawk. True, it's a shitty situation but getting the boot from that band doesn't seem like a big loss to me. Then again, what do I know? I'm just a nerd spouting off opinions on a message board.

The MS interview mentioned recording one song (a Roxy Music Cover ) with Kevin and Jello. That'd be super awesome if that happened. It would be even awesomer if Kevin stuck around to record a few more. If not, oh well. He's an amazing bass player and if he choses to stay clean I really can't see him stopping anytime soon.

He went AWOL from the Melvins in like 2005, the story goes the band couldn't contact him (he'd got back on the gear) so had to get Trevor Dunn in to record that Houdini live album with them. Buzz supposedly kicked him out of the band immediately and Tomahawk basically did the same. Buzz & Patton are really close so I assume Patton just followed Buzz's lead on that.
