I've uploaded some of the most amazing pictures I've ever seen that I received from the photographer Andreas Borge, you must check them out!! Here . I'd like to apoligize for the length of time it took me to put these up, as well as update the rest of the site school has kept me incredibly busy. Winter break is coming soon, and that will give me some time to do some cool things, thanks again for visiting my site. I just got a double disc set of the recent Grumpy's shows in Minneapolis so I'm going to upload a couple songs from the show at a time in the order they appear in the show, the first two are on the right now, enjoy.

There's some pretty cool flash videos of fantomas and tomahawk songs on ipecac's new extras page located here. Also from Ipecac, the melvinsfantomas bigband show from last years new years eve should be released on cd in March of '02. Also Try has posted an old article of Buzzo in a guitar player magazine back in December of 1993 check that out here.

Tuesday , November 13, 2001
Since amrep sold out of the zippo a go-go melvins package which includes the shit sandwich 7" it has been going for outrageous prices on ebay and there isn't even any music on it, i find that incredibly comical check this out :).

Gene has some pictures of the Oct. 20th show in Hollywood located here.

Tuesday , November 6, 2001.
I've received a few emails saying that other music media sites have said that Kevin Rutmanis is the former bass player of melvins in articles such as... Tired of supergroups that suck? Fear not, for Tomahawk has arrived. The inimitable former Jesus Lizard guitarist Duane Denison and ex-Faith No More and current Mr. Bungle persona Mike Patton formed Tomahawk after being introduced at a Mr. Bungle show and soon recruited former Helmet stickman John Stanier and former Melvins string-thumper Kevin Rutmanis to flesh out their vision. Tomahawk are currently in the midst of their first North American tour in support of their self-titled debut album on Ipecac.from Pitchforkmedia.com. Just so everyone knows he hasn't left the band, Tomahawk is just a side project for him, and a very good one at that check out the cd!

Wednesday , October 31, 2001.
I got the Tomahawk cd yesterday, I really like it, I've already listened to it like 5 times. Tomahawk of course is Kevin Rutmanis' new side project. I wasn't sure how good this cd would be, beings as it seems Mike Patton has so much on his plate but they did an extremely good job. I'd definitely reccommend it to any melvins fan. Check out ipecac.com for more info on them, they also have a full length mp3 of the first track on the album. Check out the tour dates page, because their U.S. Tour starts in a couple days!

Thursday , October 25, 2001.
The Fantomas show tonight at The Knitting Factory is being webcasted on the knitting factories website. Check that out.

Friday , October 19, 2001.
I've got alot more info on what the melvins use when they play, i put the page over in the other stuff section of the site if you want to check that out. It came together nicely thanks to your help. Of course email me with any further info. People keep telling me this and i keep forgetting to post it, melvins will be recording sometime in december. After that i beleive tomahawk will be going on a european and australian tour. After that i'm not sure i heard the new fantomas cd that will be all original material is recorded and will be released in early 2002, so a tour may come with that. I heard though that a melvins us tour will happen in April of 2002 so perhaps the cd will be released around that time. Obviously i am out of the loop. Let me know if you're seeing the melvins tomorrow in la or if you saw them open for tool recently. I've been putting emails about recent shows on the message board in the shows section, so if you're feeling adventurous go for it. And of course you can post your show review yourself there.

Thursday , October 18, 2001.
Those of you who didn't make it to the shows in minneapolis this past week can pick up the exclusive merch they had there over at amreps website, for 50 bucks. Here's the page, it has pictures.

Tuesday , October 9, 2001.
Thanks to Tim Völker I have a page with what Buzz uses when he plays. You all should check it out and tell me if you think that's what he uses too or if you think he uses other stuff, I'd like to hear from the people that know what Kevin and Dale use as well. Check the page out here.

Monday , October 8, 2001.
According to Sonic Youth's website the melvins won't be playing the make up date of the ATP Show, because "they're getting married". In my opinion it'd still be worth going to, with groups such as Boredoms, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Merzbow, Stereolab, US Maple, Unwound, and Sonic Youth themselves.

Sunday , October 7, 2001.
Just got some kickass pictures of Dale Crover from his high school yearbook thanks to Dave Ward. Check them out here!

Thursday , October 4, 2001.
Pollstar.com put up that the melvins are playing with tool on the rest of their tour. This is false, melvins will only be playing the dates with tool listed on my tour dates page. It's a shame too because I am going to the Cedar Rapids show. In fact i bought my tickets for the show after i found out by pollstar that they were playing. :(

Tuesday , October 2, 2001.
The unknown song from 11.20.86 was 'Cold Gin' by Kiss. I've uploaded another one from the same show. Try to figure this one out.

Monday , October 1, 2001.
The All Tomorrow's Parties Show curated by Sonic Youth that the melvins were scheduled to play accompanied by the backyard wrestling video has been cancelled due to the airplane tradgedy. I guess it's been rescheduled for 15-17 of March 2002. So the melvins decided to do a show with Unwound, and John Spencer's Blues Explosion, two other bands that were supposed to play the show. Pretty cool of them. Check out the tour dates page for info on that.

Tuesday , September 25, 2001.
I guess the melvins will be playing a few shows with Tool, after Fantomas is finished. Lucky Tool Fans, check out the tour dates section for the dates!

Wednesday , September 19, 2001.

The unknown mp3 of the week was figured out by about twenty people since i posted it. It was a cover song, She by Kiss from the Dressed to Kill LP. I can't stand kiss so i didn't know. See if you guys can figure the new one out, it might just be a jam.

From MTV.COM While West Coast Tool fans will be treated to King Crimson as show openers, those on the East Coast will be primed by the sonic antics of Fantômas. Though an itinerary is still being plotted, Fantômas, fronted by former Faith No More frontman Mike Patton, are tentatively scheduled to begin their three-week stint with Tool on September 22, according to an Ipecac Records spokesperson. The tour, supporting the band's second album, The Director's Cut (see "Patton Scores With Second Fantômas LP"), will be routed to hit major markets such as New York; Boston; Philadelphia; Portland, Maine; Washington, D.C.; Albany, New York; Charlotte, South Carolina; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Atlanta, among others. "It's the yin and yang tour — the band of the 20-minute song meets the band of the 20-second song," Patton said of the pairing, referring to Tool's penchant for epic-length tunes and his own group's tendency to spit out brief bursts of noise. Tool's West Coast jaunt with King Crimson begins August 3 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver (see "Tool, King Crimson Journey West For August Tour"). Before hooking up with Tool, Fantômas — vocalist Patton, bassist Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle), drummer Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer) and guitarist Buzz Osbourne (Melvins) — will hit the road with electronic trio Chicks on Speed beginning September 4, the spokesperson said. Patton also continues to work on his Peeping Tom project, which is scheduled for release next year on Reprise Records. Lending a hand to the endeavor is eclectic hip-hop guru Dan the Automator (Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Dr. Octagon). Meanwhile, the debut album from Tomahawk — another of the prolific musician's bands, featuring former Jesus Lizard guitarist Duane Denison — is slated for October by Ipecac (see "Patton Pending: Ex-Faith No More Frontman Preps Five Projects"). The singer/composer returns Dan the Automator's favor on the producer's Nathaniel Merriweather Presents Lovage: Songs to Make Love to Your Old Lady By, also scheduled for an October release, according to a spokesperson from 75 Ark Entertainment. Lovage is the Automator, Patton and Elysian Fields vocalist Jennifer Charles, and the album will feature a cover of Berlin's "Sex (I'm A...)."

News from ipecac First of all, thanks to everyone around the world that bought THE DIRECTOR'S CUT! It is doing amazingly well. Charting everywhere from Billboard in the US to the HMV National Chart in Australia. For you packaging freaks here is the breakdown. Australia got the shiniest packaging. Europe got a shiny front and duller back, North America got duller front and back. That's what happens when you use 3 different printers. Some Australians even got a 2 song sampler, shiny poster or ticket to an instore appearance by the band! The home of AC/DC rules!
Fantômas will be doing some North American dates on the west coast and through the Midwest with Chicks On Speed from Sept 4-21 then open for TOOL on the east coast to the south from Sept 22-Oct 7. I will post dates soon.
The band has new merch to sell for the Australian and North American tours. Relax, you will be able to spend ! your money on lot's of cool stuff.
Tomahawk is scheduled for Oct 31 release followed by a November North American tour followed by tours in Europe and Australia in early 2002. The record is great!!! It is a real rock record. Some people who were FNM fans but can't digest Fantômas will be pleased. We will be putting up a sample in a month or so when the drama over the demo's dies down.
Work is proceeding on putting together the Melvinfantomas Big Band Live New Years Eve Cd. We have not forgotten!
Melvins are finding the pieces and extras for a rerelease of 10SONGS. They begin recording their new studio record in December for a spring 2002 release.

Apparently a member of the melvins is working on a side project with trent reznor among others, i haven't heard much about it but this is from the new spin magazine.. If, as Goethe wrote, "men show their character in nothing more clearly than by what they think laughable," Keenan is in some rare company. But if we also judge a man by the company he keeps, he seems just as unusual. Keenan's friends include Trent Reznor and members of Rage, Melvins, and Deftones, all of whom are also collaborators (with Reznor leading, with Keenan, the upcoming, black-clad, super-secretive supergroup Tapeworm). Here's the url. The paragraph is about halfway down the page.

Sunday, May 27, 2001.

One of my favorite songs I've ever written. I wrote it in 1986. And I think Kevin plays it sexier than anyone we ever had in our band." and For the anti-Eye Flies community, "Like sizz the well no water!"

A guy is releasing a tribute to the melvins cd by different bands you can check it out at the url here.

Thursday, May 3, 2001.
I saw the show last night in Chicago, it was flat out mind blowing. I have a hard time defining the melvins as music because they're so easily above and beyond any other artist or artists that I've ever experienced. I drove from Iowa city to see it, it was a fucking hassle when I got there because the metro is like two blocks away from Wrigley field and the cubs were playing a night game and it was an ass and a half looking for a god damned parking spot with all the baseball fans running a muck. Went to the shedd aquarium in Chicago before that, I found that to be pretty weak too. Before the show we went to this restaurant across the street from the metro. It was probably the worst service I've ever received in my life. They didn't have any napkins sitting out in the whole place and when I asked for a couple this dude that didn't speak too good of english gave me the most enraged look I've ever been given then went back to burning someone else's food. I thank buzzo that I don't live in Chicago, how depressing that would be. Oh well though at least the show was all ages the one in des Moines isn't and I couldn't even go. Folk Implosion was pretty good, I've listened to them for a while now but didn't expect too much out of them live. Lou Barlow has a pretty good voice though I think. I noticed that when they played that bob seger song with the big d that the drummer couldn't keep up with him whatsoever. The whole melvins set just blew my mind. They came out one by one, when dave stone came out I noticed a guy flip him off, i don't get that... You can really tell they love what they do though, and I don't blame them. I got the melvins wiener schnitzel in a can, plus a few stickers and a shirt with a zombie looking blue faced character that I remember they were selling about 6 or 7 years ago too. They sold out of xl's in the other shirts they had which was too bad. All in all I'd just have to say that I can't even believe the melvins are real they're so good.

Monday, April 30, 2001.
The Digital Club Network will be webcasting some upcoming melvins shows. They will be playing the Metro on 5/2, the Bottleneck on 5/5, Fox Theater on 5/7, and the Showbox on 5/12. All shows will be webcasted live and free on the site. Check the schedule on the site for exact showtimes.

Sunday, April 29, 2001.
Mark Deutrom form bass player recently released a cd entitled the Silent Treatment. His European label is located here Lunasound Recording and his American label is located here Teepee Records.

Friday, April 27, 2001.
There's a nice little interview/preview of the May 2nd Chicago show in today's Chicago Sun-Times I'll be at that show :)

Tuesday, April 24, 2001.
The new mp3 of the week is Tequilla from the 4.15.00 Chicago, IL show. I really liked this one as the beginning of the first set.

Sunday, April 22, 2001.
Gene-O got some live pictures for his site taken by himself and El Justin. Check out his site to see those. Also some new Fantomas dates added to the dates section. At this point I guess I'm going to Chicago to see the melvins because the des moines show isn't all ages. Pretty weak. We'll see what happens.

Friday, April 20, 2001.
I got some more pictures from the Manchester show. I put those up in the live pictures section. Also he sent me some pics from a London show around the time Stoner Witch was released anyone have any idea on the exact date? Crushr put some mp3's up on his melvins page from the recent show he went to in Austin, TX.

Thursday, April 19, 2001.
Theres a four part Fantomas interview located here in mp3 format about halfway down the page. Check it out. Also got an alternate version of Let It All Be up in the tabs section.

Tuesday, April 17, 2001.
I updated the t-shirts section with some more shirts that people have sent in. I really want that sign language shirt anyone know where that one's from?

Friday, April 13, 2001.
Ipecac.com was majorly updated, it looks nice! It has a new mp3 on it for the upcoming Fantomas release The Directors Cut, a collection of Soundtrack Songs. The MP3 is Rosemary's Baby and I think it sounds great.

Wednesday, April 11, 2001.
Hey did some major updates today I got some pictures up from two different shows along with some pics of merch from the euro shows as well here and here. Also I have been getting lots of show reviews from the euro shows which I've been putting on the message board so you might want to go there to check out all the goings on. This is a good one a guy sent me the setlist which he scanned in. I also put up any other news that i find noteworthy in the message board when i don't have time to do a full update of the site. One thing that i put in there is that my friend corey just recently saw enemymine and mike told him that the mike and the melvins project would be out this fall on sub pop, I'm really looking forward to this album. Also gene uploaded some mp3's which I put on our MP3 page, check those out, MelvinsFantomas BigBand tracks! Plus a couple interviews. Also got some more tabs up as well. I guess that's all I must assume everyone is enjoying colossus of destiny. I'm getting psyched to see them on the 4th, I hope everyone else gets a chance to see them on this tour.

Tuesday, April 3, 2001.
What's up Colossus of Destiny came out today, I got my copy at Sal's Music Imporium in Iowa City, IA. It's the best record store in iowa i think, they always have the new melvins cds the day they come out, without fail. The cd is awesome I think, I just sat on my couch and listened to it with the lights out straight through, and I thought it sounded so cool that I listened to it straight through for a second time. It only has one actual song, eye flys. The rest of the cd is a bunch of noise type sounds made through processors and such, no drums whatsoever until eye flys, nor singing but there's sampled voices throughout. I just really thijnk it's amazing and that may not be enough beings as i feel that way about every melvins record but I'd really recommend picking it up, it's great. I also read that the next melvins release will most likely be the re-release of 10 songs on ipecac similar to gpt with liner notes and a cooler cover etc. Rick sent in a bunch of new guitar tabs so I revamped that section in my spare time. Rene sent this in to me I did an interview with Buzz and Dale on March 13th @ Szene Wien in Vienna, Austria for a local radio station called "Radio Orange - Das freie Radio in Wien" and I managed to record the show and I will broadcast it on April 26th 01:00 (CET) which can also be heard via the internet here with a playlist here. Email him here with any questions. I got an email with a link to the your choice records website which put out the your choice live melvins cd, it has pictures of the melvins on it check it out here. As you may have noticed the community mp3 archive is down because i no longer have my cable modem. Right now I'm looking into other alternatives for hosting the mp3's. There's some cheap places i've found that boast unlimited bandwidth, but I still haven't decided it's probably going to be about 120 a year and i have to pay the full year up front. If anyone is interested in donating a few bucks to help get the mp3's back online that'd be cool, let me know and email me with any other ideas you have on the matter. Also the message board has quite a few messages, lots with tour reports from people who've been to the european shows. It's also where I put other information, like the new info on Fantomas' upcoming cd The Director's Cut. Thanks again for visiting this website.

Sunday, March 11, 2001.
I've gotten a few reviews from people that have gone to the europe shows, you all should check those out i placed them on the message board in the show reviews section. Check those out to see what the melvins are up to! I guess the shirts they're selling over there are the same ones they were selling on the 2x4 tour, along with some stickers and some posters which have been said to be pretty expensive. I updated the lyrics section, with some lyrics from the deep six comp. Got a new guitar tab of Jew Boy Flowerhead in the tabs section. Also I'm slowly but surely getting new shows on to the MP3 archive so keep checking back there, and I'd like to thank everyone for not downloading multiple files at once after I asked. The mp3 of the week is pretty exciting after a long time of being down cowboy is back baby! More info on this track is on the mp3 page about halfway down. Also the cover as you can see of Colossus of Destiny has been released, pretty cool. A short clip is on the ipecac site.

Sunday, March 4, 2001.
Well let's see, the European tour began a couple days ago, I hope everyone over in that neck of the woods is enjoying the shows, I certainly can't wait to see them again this spring. I plan on going to the Des Moines show, and possibly the Chicago or Minneapolis date depending on my schedule. If anyone gets a chance to take any pictures or has a review of the show over in europe be sure to send in a review or scan in those pictures so I can share them with everyone else! Melvins have alot going on right now with the tour, and the upcoming release of Colossus of Destiny. I emailed kevin before they went on tour and he said, "hey ... glad you liked etard ... yeah it came out ok ... nothing much going on right now........m. and the melvins is kinda on standby, but it WILL come out eventually... work on Tomahawk is coming along nicely........good group of people, and the music is really good, in my opinion..... much different than the melvins or fantomas.... basically just getting ready for tour........rehearsals and such ..... that's about it. "colossus of destiny" comes out i THINK in April ..... that's a weird one, but good and viscous take it easy, Kevin" m. and the melvins is the project being slowly worked on between the melvins and mike(from godheadsilo and enemymine) i think it's illegal to know that guys last name or something, same with dan the other guy from that band. Anyways who knows when that's coming out but it should be good when it does. Also Fantomas just got done recording a cd which I guess is a collection of soundtrack covers. For more info on what's going on with ipecac check out their website at www.ipecac.com. Also I saved a post from somebody on the list that was at the show that C.O.D. came from and I thought I'd post it to the site, so here it is. Also melvins.com put some new mp3's up, eventually I'll probably archive the mp3's that Jesse put on the site on the community mp3 page. Speaking of which another big update is coming to that soon, the mp3 of the week is a song from one of the shows that will be added, I just upgraded the server as well, and by the way if you're going to download mp3's on that page, only download one song at a time because it bogs me down when I have one fool downloading five songs at once, if i see it i usually just turn it off, ridiculous. Any who thanks for reading.

I just got Electroretard and I think it's amazing, really well produced every song has an incredibly "ambient" quality to it as well. I ordered mine from mansruin but it took way too long and it came in to stores on tuesday so i just bought it there, I'll sell my other copy to a friend or something. Check out the discography section for the tracklist etc. The artwork by Frank Kozik is really cool, i especially like the inside liner with the two children. I put up the lyrics to Youth of America the mp3 of the week on the lyrics page, and I suppose i better say this..I realize youth of america is a wipers song but the melvins play the song therefore i assume people will still want to know what the lyrics to the song are so I put them on the lyrics page along with all the other cover songs that the melvins play that i have lyrics for. This idiot has emailed me twice because he has a problem with the fact that i put lyrics to cover songs that the melvins play, how ridiculous. The European tour begins in less than a month dates are posted on the tour dates page followed by the next u.s. tour(I beleive more dates are still to come). Also I should be getting the new years eve melvinsfantomas show in the mail on a cd-r which I will put on the community mp3 page which i must say is looking really good. Also check out the new message board I made it so now it's on themelvins.net server so no more ads and I think this one looks alot better. Collossus of Destiny already in the Horizon.

Electroretard has been released by Mansruin records, I haven't received my copy yet but I've ordered it off their website. The track listing and other information can be found in the discography section. The mp3 of the week is the first track from that album it's titled Shit Storm. You can find an mp3 of this track played backwards here(not anymore). The Melvins just played a date in Seattle(a review can be found here), they opened the show with a sampling of their new cd which will be coming out on Ipecac in April which is entitled Collossus of Destiny. Apparently this is a live cd which was recorded to Dat and included Adam Jones from Tool on guitar. Kevin said this of it "The music is "out in the tall weeds" as we like to say—that is, a tad abstract—live and vicious and then resolving into a light and fluffy version of Eye Flys. We were opening for ourselves, and played a loud, loud attack style music. The audience had their fingers in their ears, and couldn't leave because that wasn't allowed by the club. It went on for an hour and then evolved into our "normal " set. It was quite lovely. The promoter asked us not to do that set again, even though we sold the place out 2 nights in a row. We don't play there anymore thanks to their misplaced artistic guidance." credit to melvins.com the melvins official website for that info. Once their european tour is over they'll be touring the U.S. again in support of that album, the tour dates are posted on the tour dates page(I beleive more dates are still to come). Also the new years eve melvinsfantomas show was recorded and may be released on ipecac as well, that's still up in the air. The t-shirt section is coming around quite well with some more contributions this past week check that out here, it's also located in the Other Stuff Section. Send in scans of your melvins shirts if they're not on there! Also a HUGE update is in progress at the Community MP3 Page.

Hey welcome to 2001. I gathered a bunch of pictures of the new trilogy triple gatefold picture disc collection you can check those out here. The MelvinsFantomas big band just played on new years eve, if you were able to get pictures or you have a review of the show send them in. I heard they weren't allowing people to bring cameras in though(something about mike patton not liking his picture taken I guess). Here's a pic of what the special shirt that was sold at the show looked like. I just got pictures from Steve from the 12.17.00 Melvins Fantomas Big Band Show in L.A. those can be seen here. I've begun work on a Melvins T-Shirt Section you can find that here, it will be located in the Other Stuff Section. Send in scans of your melvins shirts if they're not on there! The ElectroRetard CD is still supposed to be out on the 29th of this month but it's still not available for pre-order at the mansruin site. Keep checking back at this site for them to allow the orders of it. The new mp3 of the week is Larry from the Prick CD, not to be confused with Instant Larry from the Demon Night Soundtrack which is available on the MP3 page.
