The wait is finally over, the new Melvins EP "The Bulls & The Bees" is now available for F-R-E-E download. In addition to that, the new video for 'The War on Wisdom' the first track off the EP was released upon the internets for your viewing pleasure. As far as getting a physical copy of this, AMREP will be doing a vinyl version at some point, and I've heard rumors you might be able to get a copy of the free cd by e-mailing This email address is being protected from spambots. METALSUCKS interviewed Dale recently and he let a plethora of cats out of the bag! "We’ve been doing a ton of recording of various things, doing lots of covers. We’re going to be doing a lot of splits with people. We’re going to be doing some singles where we play with other people as well. We’ve recorded some Venom songs, with Scott Kelly from Neurosis singing and playing guitar. We’ve recorded a Roxy Music song with Jello Biafra with our old bass player Kevin [Rutmanis] playing. We just recorded some Queen songs with a friend of ours Caleb who’s in a band called Tweak Bird. We have a bunch of things planned along those lines."

Spin conducted a revelaing interview with Buzz in which he reiterates his non-involvement in the death of Kurt Cobain among other things. "I really, really don’t care what people do. If you want to smoke weed or destroy your life with other drugs or whatever you want to do, I’m fine with that. Good. I think you should OD. You should OD with a giant stockpile of drugs right in front of you."

Rolling Stone has an article on the infamous Melvan, the original Melvins tour van complete with Kurt Cobain sharpie art. The current owner posted it on ebay and appears to be well on his way to a life of luxury.

Dale and Coady went Mano-a-mano in a drum-off on March 10th at The CineFamily at the premiere of the film Sound of Noise. There was video on youtube of the drum-off but the person that shot the video decided to set it to private.

AmRep posted Unsane's cover of 'The Bloat' on youtube that will be on the upcoming tour 7". If you weren't sure whether or not you wanted to pick this up, now you know you do.

Big Business redesigned their website and it looks like something out of a utopian future.

What a news-filled month February has turned out to be for MELVINS Fans! First up, on March 13th you will be able to download 'The Bulls & The Bees' 5-song EP from facebook. The EP release will be followed by a 21-date U.S. trek w/ Unsane that kicks off on Apr. 11 at The Blank Club in San Jose, Calif. and wraps up exactly a month later on May 11 at The Galaxy Concert Theatre in Santa Ana, Calif. Additionally, the April 13th Los Angeles show at the Troubadour will be taped for a future airing on an episode of “Last Call With Carson Daly“. You'll be able to pick up a free Bulls/Bees CD at one of the shows, AmRep will also likely be releasing it at a later date in what will undoubtedly be an attractive format. Buzz described the effort as “amazing in its noisy calm intensity.” To whet your appetites four of the five tracks are available for streaming NOW!

Ipecac has also announced the forthcoming Melvins-Lite album 'Freak Puke' scheduled to be released on June 5. Melvins-Lite is Buzz and Dale along with the great Trevor Dunn. (Have no fear, this collaboration does not spell the demise of the Melvins/Big Biz alliance) There will be a Melvins-Lite tour later on this year.

Amrep will also be doing a series of 12" records. The 13 record Sugar Daddy Splits series is the Melvins tracks from their Ipecac "Sugar Daddy" CD combined with bands they love from past, present, and future. Okay, maybe not future. Starting it off, COWS and the U-MEN!!! Pressing sizes will be a lot larger than recent projects, and way more affordable. But still slick as %$#@ Let the stupid questions that would've already been answered had some one bothered to read this far - BEGIN!

Decibel Magazine did a Q&A with Buzz and Dale. "I’m often surprised by why people expect us to do something normal they shouldn’t. There are lots of bands who are willing to do all kinds of normal things; people should not look to us to do that." - Buzz

Melvins were featured and interviewed for the 'Grunge' episode of VH1's Metal Evolution series. You may not be able to watch it on VH1's site if you're outside of civilization.

All Tomorrow's Parties announced that Melvins will be playing their "I'll Be Your Mirror" event in London on May 25th, 2012 along with the inarguably best two bands that start with SL, Sleep and Slayer.
 
Radio Nova out of Norway interviewed Buzz and Dale and have posted the audio in two parts. Part 1 & Part 2  
 
Dale was quoted in the New York Times regarding the mini album being released in 2012 by a car company called Scion. "I am really glad that a company like this is interested in art, Mr. Crover said. It’s a way to continue doing what we do and make money doing it."

Ipecac will be putting out a live performance of Fantômas' Director's Cut on DVD on September 6th. It has Dale on drums and obviously Buzz on guitar, in addition to that the DVD includes a commentary track by the legendary Neil Hamburger.
 
Filmed at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall on Dec. 31, 2008, the DVD features the band performing songs from their classic 2001 collection of soundtrack covers The Director’s Cut, as well as two songs not featured on the album: Al Green’s ‘Simply Beautiful’ and Marc Bolan & T. Rex’s ‘Chariot Choogle’.
 
Dale played drums for the Warlock Pinchers during their recent reunion shows and is featured on the DVD they've released chronicling the event. Rumor has it there's a special feature w/ the Melvins covering Alice Cooper included.
 
Someone uploaded an old TV appearance by the Melvins on FX's SoundFX from the Stoner Witch era, they play Revolve & Goose Freight Train. 90's cable was sweet.
