So they are saying 5 variations on the Freak Puke picture discs, 5 different 1983 covers, 2 new Sugar Daddy Splits and something crazy involving Mackie and a Letterpress for a Bulls and Bees 10". I am going into sensory overload!!!! :shock:
Here's the full image used. Not bad. Im getting used to all this different (none Mackie) Melvins art of late. Do you think the other four picture disks will be by those who did the recent 7" s?

She is a sexually charged yet infertile succubus who behaves aggressively toward men and children killing them at her every whim, her breasts are filled with poison not milk. The artwork is really sweet but I'm not a fan of picture discs. Once again the band comes up with a really cool limited special edition vinyl and all I want is a standard edition.

That is very wishful thinking my friend, if your lucky you might get Bulls & Bees and 1983 at the same time. I don't think Freak Puke is even going to be sold on the 51/51 Tour. I hope AmRep does a 1 per customer limit on all the vinyl to give more folks a chance, I love that there is no choosing of colors/designs on the wax. Makes it more interesting! :D

Ya there was a release saying that all the freak puke vinyls will be completely sealed, so you won't know which one you got till you open it up! pretty neat idea in my opinion. Discourages people from buying all five, which leaves extra copies, which means i might be able to get one!!! :D

I believe the only choices will be in the covers for 1983. I did read that as far as colors/patterns with the vinyl there will be no choosing with both 1983 and Bulls& Bees. As stated above, Freak Puke will be sealed and you will not know what picture disc you are getting. I am not worried about that Freak Puke won't sound good on a picture disc. AmRep always does a decent job and I already own "Growing Disgust" on a picture disc and it sounds great. Anyone who whines about just wanting a regular version and trashes the reptile folks should just start their own label and try to work out a deal with Ipecac and the Melvins.

If you were a sports fan and had a favorite team, perhaps you might get season tickets. You would watch the same team play over and over during a 180 game season if you use Baseball as your example. 90 games at home. There my friend is your excuse. You only see the Melvins 4 times a year.
Well that was a surprisingly stress free experience. I gave up waiting and went out for lunch and bought them on my mobile.
Good value at $30 each. Hoping for the Tara McPhersen and Taxali ones.

I'm pretty sure that an LP needs to be less than 45 minutes total to be of good quality which is probably why they had to drop a track as it obviously wouldn't be practical to make it a double LP.

Freak Puke is 42:14. AmRep changed the siteI think, Im pretty sure they originally listed it, as do the LP sleeves. I have dealt with my grief and choose not to cry over it. I am grateful for the Growing Disgust 45 and the fact I own two turntables. :D The Freak Puke picture discs really do look and sound amazing. So glad I got the one I wanted. :D

Actually looking at the track times now it appears that they've left it off in order to keep the running time under 20 minutes on each side. I'm sure this has something to do with the quality of the pressing.

I thought it was to give the Hammerhead split 7" and edge. I've always hated singles that were on the LP (especially if the B-side is as well). The Hammerhead split is so nice and collectable. Not only because of the Art, but neither track is on the LP!!

i think someone covered that. it's well under 45 mins and the tracks do split in half pretty nicely. maybe left off by mistake or a bit of fuckery. no big deal though.
there will be more double melvins LPs in the works yet to come. :buzz:
