Theres no dollar on the SF screening yet because they haven't let us know. We will put it up as soon as we know.
The Little Theater in Rochester NY is independent. Here's their info:
http://thelittle.org/information
I'm sure they'd be interested in screening the film. Just passing the info along.
Love the posters!
Not sure if this is the correct link, but I'm sure IFC in NYC would host a screening or 3.

Was at the SF Screening, job well done. Only thing missing was "carpool karaoke" with Buzz!! Great documentary
HANZ down a gr8 fucking doc  =D> saw blacksanta's name on the kick-starter credits lol
Great job. My biggest complaint was the lack of cool air at the theater. Proud of you both, and thanks for answering my question regarding lukin. I would pay full ticket price to see that full interview alone. The credit for backers: my name on there means nothing to the world at large, but because that band means the world to me, that made me feel like i was connected just a little teeny bit to something so great. Saw dillard in line for popcorn. Again, ryan and bob, you did so well, great job.
Yup, fucking awesome! I realized I was smiling almost the entire time!
Well done Idle...You done made us proud!
not the first asking this probably but what about Europe, will we ever get the chance to watch this documentary?

I think the chances of a European premiere are slim to none at best. I think for us lot (and basically the majority of people around the world) it is a case of waiting on the DVD release or perhaps a purchasable download. Apparently if all goes to plan, it will be released properly towards the end of this year. For myself, it will probably be 18 months to 2 years until i see it.

my only complain is the late start time... not everyone can keep Bob Hannam hours.

good job CN! I have tickets for the 9 pm showing at Grumpy's. Will this put me past my bed time?
That's a great review.
anyone know the interview location, where there was a wooden staircase behind buzz and dale- seemed to be used quite frequently throughout..
also like many others i sure hope there are plans for a dvd release of this doc

That was you? I'll be honest with ya, I was nervous as fuck. I HATE being the focus of attention and I hate public speaking. I had to get quite a few drinks in me to be able to do that. Apparently I did alright. I couldn't see any faces from up there either. I mean I could, but I just blanked on everyone.

There will be a dvd release late 2016 or early 2017.

Great movie i really enjoyed it! Wanted to talk to some Melvins fans, but it was time to get. Plus when you either talk to an old bum or Kim Thayil who are you gonna choose?

Oh no . If Buzz or Dale ever joined in on that Carpool Karaoke retardation, I might have to disown the Melvins from my life. Whenever I see a promo for that crap I either want:
(a) for them to get carjacked and pistol-whipped
(b) for them to get T-boned by an 18-wheeler.
Then I'd watch it over and over again.
This might seem extreme, but I'm not like an angry person or anything. I just despise that show and guy. Do people really think that's cute & funny?
Back on topic: What do we have to do to get some east coast C.O.D. screenings? And I'm not talking just NYC. This needs to play in every major city :!:

Last night was amazing!!!!!!!
Diet Melvins is pretty sweet too. The set was stellar. The Documentary just as amazing (if not more) than the first time I saw it. The Q&A was THE BOMB!!!!! Buzz holds no punches and might be the greatest story teller / comedian to ever come out of rock and roll.
Last night left me wondering - how many more times will the Melvins re-invent themselves? I mean, they did so AGAIN right in front of our eyes with Diet Melvins. Buzz rocks the acoustic guitar so fucking hard!!!!
I am envisioning at some point "Diet Melvins Lite" with Buzz on acoustic and Trevor on Double Bass.
And then I am also dreaming of MelvinsKross (it has to happen damnit!)
And maybe someday Midi Melvins. With all midi guitars and drums.
But of course, what do I know? These guys have surprised me for almost 30 years now.
Great job Ryan and Bob. Great job!!!!
Who's the dude far left on the photo with all the contributors doing the Q&A on stage?

Awesome once again. Dillard showed up with his family.
Olympia showing was great. Really enjoyed the film, my first show was my senior year of high school in 05 when they played Olympia with jello and I've seen a show every year since, it was awesome seeing the film and going back through all the years that I've been a part of. Really enjoyed the merchandise portion. Working in the printing industry, it was cool seeing they touch everything they put out. Great work, and we'll cya at the next show.

Pretty sure with eBay you actually have to pay for people to take your kids

Finally got to see this fantastic movie, and squoze in a little hang time with Idle and GiveMe45 beforehand to boot. (Great to see you as always to the former, pleasure to meet you to the latter!)
The movie is so good, I was really impressed. Most of all in the way that it really is made in the spirit of and captures the soul of the band. It's lo-fi (in a good way mostly) and a little rough around the edges (in a good way mostly) and thoroughly entertaining. Like a Melvins record. That's a real tribute to Ryan and Bob, they made a movie that in it's own strange way feels like something that the Melvins made. And that's a special thing. I can't wait to see it again, no shit. There's so much gold in there, and it's just absolutely packed to the gills with content, it's going to take repeat viewings to really take it all in. It's also fucking hilarious, a lot of great humor comes through.
This has been a weird, fucked up week and getting to sit in a cool old theater on a rainy Sunday afternoon with a bunch of people with great taste in music watching a beautiful tribute to the greatest band on this green earth restored my faith in humanity, just a little. Thanks for that fellas.

The movie was excellent! I really enjoyed it. Too many cool things to list. Well done! My only complaint is that I've only seen it once.
I'm glad you guys enjoyed it, and thanks a ton for coming out to watch!

So, we just found out the Cardiff screening for tonight was cancelled due to "circumstances". Neither Bob or I know why but we apologize if anyone got there without knowing. The venue says they've rescheduled for Feb 7th at 7pm and tickets for tonight will be honored.
You can get a poster here, limited to 300.

What did you think of it?
Highly entertaining. The wife couldn't go, so I gave her ticket to my drummer and he loved it (not a diehard Melvins fan, but I'm bringing him around). Practically everything in the movie was funny, enlightening or both. Some of the audio on the interview clips is of varying quality, but not a huge distraction and some of the great teaser clips since the kickstarter campaign didn't even make the cut, but I would put this on Palladia against any Rock Doc they got.
And I felt they truly handled the missing participation from the 3 usual suspects in a brilliant manner that got a huge crowd response.

One of them. I was on the opposite side of the screen from where they were scrolling and it was almost a thousand names going by, but I saw plenty of names from here and Facebook. Jules Treasure. Best name on a list of kickstarter backers. :buzz:

You bet yr bippy
wouldn't have it any other way.
now who's going to Detroit? come out.. come out... wherever you are.
I would go to Detroit, if it wasn't the same night as Whores.. Live show beats film, even if it is the Melvins.
Just watched it last night.
Thanks to all those involved. The momentum it took to get it all going must've been nothing short of hard work not to mention just how polish was applied to make it so good in the end. A staple for any true Melvin's Fan, been a superfan since 2002 yet came out of it learning a few things and surprised at some of the cameos.. Glad to have donated to such a worthy cause.
Also lolled at "Glen is a banana" in the credits.
Now for next project, who's going to make a doco about the history of Melvin's BBS???
