I just booked my plane ticket for Denver, but tickets for the show don't go on sale until 7/28. ](*,)
Actually if the Melvins make it out to Ottawa or Montreal I might actually drive out there to catch it, or maybe fly depending on price.
Looks like it would be under $300 including tax return from Toronto to either city. Lot of money but thinking of saving a 5 or 6 hour drive each way is nice.
I'd be nuts enough to go to all three if they graced us with their presence. I'm not holding my breath, but hoping they at least come somewhere nearby...

there are 2 special guest bands playing, I'm not allowed to say who they are, but lets just say one of em is fer-shir a group of "jerks" worth "circling" august 4th on your calender for, also, that other secret group starts with an "M" and rhymes with "Shelvins"
the 2 secret bands are 100% confirmed...
Awesome find. Cheeseburger started a thread on this too.
Did you see they are playing a festival in Oslo, Norway?
Oyafestivalen

Do they ever stop??
they better not if they know what's good for them.
On the 11th of August there playing in Oslo, Norway according to ipecac.com
butty, MORE DATES DAMMIT!!!
how about a nashville date? work on it.
also, it seems to me this tour is a little out of sorts for them. usually they have a release when they go on tour. is anybody on board with me on the thought that this tour will help fund the next record?

Spring at the earliest is my bet.
Just got my tix for Portland and Seattle. Through fucking Ticketmaster. A normally $20 show cost $30 thanks to 'convenience' charges. What shit.

I like this idea. please allow me to explain why. this will be a more free-wheeling tour. much UNLIKE the (A)SA tour which was pretty much the entire (A)SA album night after night after night with a couple extra songs thrown in. I anticipate this being a looser (loose -er) set with more MELVINS classics and less regimen.
I'll be at the minneapolis show on the 25th of august.

Since they're coming to Boston, then they could hit Buffalo or Rochester on the way. [-o< I'd bet the closest to upstate NY is Cleveland though.

The reason you got that email is because the Boston show is cancelled.

Only the Boston show has been cancelled. I don't know whey. The band is fine. Everything is as it was and in the next week or so the tour in its entirety will be revealed as all bookings are confirmed.

Sep. 26, 2007 Sauget, IL Pop's
Sauget, IL is right outside St. Louis, I've been to the club its sweet.
from wikipedia: "In Sauget, Illinois there is a club called Pop's. It's on a lawless piece of land with 24 hour strip bars and an O.T.B. I once went into the O.T.B. facility and saw the strangest collection of people one could imagine. It was Mos Eisley spaceport. A woman dressed like she had come straight from a jazz funeral walked in and no one seemed to notice her but myself. I guess anomaly is typical in Sauget."

*realizes its his own jealousy talking*
By the fifth show he'll/she'll? be checking his watch and going blah blah blah I've heard this before! :P
nah, but i do save up to follow bands around for a week at a time - getting a good job after college helps. i always tape the shows, so i usually don't get bored that much - there are always highlights after the 1st couple of nights to look forward also. tickets will not be as bad as gas/hotels. luckily i live in Chattanooga and 4 of those shows are only 2hr drives each way.
loved Tool in 01-02. saw them once this year (took my sis for her b-day), but wouldn't spend the $ for them again.

Anytime you want to stop out is fine by me. I've got loads of Melvins boots I could burn for you. You just need to get yourself a DVD player that will play PAL format :D Psst. You can get em for like 30 bucks at Best Buy. I bought what I thought was cheap piece o' crap but it ended up being better than my really expensive one which won't play Euro dvds.

Hey Clevelanders, I noticed the 9-29 date isn't listed yet on ticketmaster or at Peabody's Down Under site. What are they waiting for? :? How is Peabody's? Never been there, looks like it's way downtown. So far I've been to the Grog Shop, House Of Blues, Agora, Beachland Ballroom, & the The Odeon(R.I.P.) Beachland & Agora are probably my favorites, easy parking and nicely set up.
hey chiefy! plan on seeing my bright smiling face there. I think I'm going to make the trip down. I noticed it isn't listed on their website either. I doubt highly it will be on ticketmaster. you'll wind up buying the tix through peabody's site.
give it another day or 2 and then call the peabody's hotline. let me know how you make out. I'll be wanting to get my tix as well.
I'm guessing within a week here it'll show up on Ticketmaster. Look at the bands listed playing Peabody's on TM site, mostly stuff I've never heard of, that probably draws less. I just don't like driving 3 hrs to a small club without a ticket. Would suck not to be able to get in. Last time I saw them in Cleveland was fall '04,(Kevin's last stand) - Grog Shop and it was pretty packed.

word up. I'm looking at more like 4 hours. if I pull this off I'll most likely shack-up in the nearest hotel. which is, by my investigations, .1 miles away. crawling distance.

I have never gotten Melvins tix through ticketmaster, but I had to get both the Seattle and Portland tix through them this time. Expect to pay about 7-8$ more than normal per ticket. :(
Of course, it's worth it.

I was at the show! But don't worry, Peabody's doesn't sell out. Except for maybe Mushroomhead (ugh). Too bad Peabody's kind of sucks, but I've only been there once, so maybe it got better.

if you guys want to get around the ticketmaster gouging, buy your tix at grimey's record shop. now i don't know if they do mailing or whatever, but i'll go in there and pay cash. its a two dollar fee but its better than paying for free parking.

the money is spent for detroit and cleveland.
roll call. who else is going to be at either of these shows?

but melvins on saturday night in cleveland will be the last of my fun. y'all are forgetting I got mumma at home with lily. you think shes going to let me roll out for 3 days straight and come home in who knows what shape whilst she is dealing with a crying little lady? not gonna happen. not without severe consequences.
not to mention a small fortune in accomadations.
Is Peabody's smaller than Grog Shop? I always buy my tickets at the door for Grog Shop shows, but if there is a chance they will sell out, I am willing to take a giant, ticketmaster-sized dick in the ass just to ensure I have I tickets.

I'm guessing it has to be the same size or smaller. That's why I bought a ticket, I'll pay the extra $9 to be safe. I'm not driving 3-1/2 hours to stand out front looking for tix or handouts.

I would totally let people crash at my place, if it was actually mine. :( I'm not really in that position.

I showed up at last years show at the Grog Shop over an hour after doors opened, and still was able to buy 4 tickets. I plan on being way early this year, so I think I'll just get them at the door.

The clue lies with 'soiled'.
Him and his friends were trying to kick heroin. To pass the time, they'd talk about trains and lock each other up in rooms with only water and peanut butter. Once, this friend was spending the night after a serious fight with heroin, and when he woke up TGH's sister was in the bathroom, so this goofy friend relieved himself into the sheets. Then this friend took the sheets to the laundry, but TGH's mom saw the laundry and said 'what a good friend, give me the laundry'..well, TGH's friend and TGH's mom started fighting over the soiled laundry, and let me tell you, it did not end pretty.

I just need to say this: Everyone that buys some merch, leave John a tip in his tip jar. He's a helluva good guy. He'll probably be working the stand alone, and does so through the whole show. Be patient if it's crowded......and it will be. He goes as fast as he can. The last two shows I've seen people pissing and moaning and he's just running back n forth trying to accomodate. Cut him a break, and leave him a buck or two.

agreed, at the last two shows here i think i threw him 10$. he was very happy but in my opinion he deserved every cent for the shit he puts up with. he always seems calm in situations where i would be beating people up.
