Best Melvins Bass Player

I have to say that Joe Preston was hands down their best.

His Thrones project is great. His Melvins solo album is awesome.
But generally all of the bass players were good.

Actually, Dale's ex wife is not the infamous Lorax. Lorax's real name was Lori Black, she is the daughter of a famous actress and she lived in a really nice house in S.F. a long long time ago. Previous to the Melvins thing her and Mark Duetrom had a punker band called Clown Alley a long long time ago.
I have enjoyed all of the bassists over the years, and here is why:

Matt Lukin: Wore a Void t-shirt  and had a checkerboard bass strap.

Lori: She had to stand on her tippy toes to turn on her double cabinet double head Ampeg set - up. The sound at the beginning of the "Ozma" record is the sound of her turning on her gear.

Tom Fynn: President of Boner Records. Used to be in Fang. That is enough right there, I think.

Joe Preston: an interesting fellow, could play any Confessor song on guitar.

Mark Duetrom: Cowboy hat, deadpan.

Kevin: nazi moustache, funny pants, generally looks insane. Three pretty good things.

I hope this was educational.

Trick question. There is no "best" Melvins Bassist.

They were all great and they all had very different styles, which brought out the best in the Melvins.

Sky Pup definitely has one of my favorite Melvins bass lines. Or Night Goat? Either way, Buzz came up with those bass lines, so I just figured I'd mention his name, as pretentious as I am. Maybe it would fit better in a 'best bass lines' thread.

My vote for best bass player goes to Mark D, my favorite bass player however is Kevin.

I'm sure Buzz has written more than those two bass lines but that's besides the point. Every melvins bass player has had to come in and put their spin on the tunes and that's what this thread is about. 

Skypup is badass, so fun to play.

I guess I kind of forgot the point of this thread, four years is such a long time.

I didn't know you played, but yes indeed, Sky Pup is a great tune to play. I recently found out a good friend of mine submitted the bass stab of it years ago, the one that's in the wiki.
