A great nonsense line.  Now, break it like this instead:

Drop the extra letters used to muddy the waters:

You get the unandorned line:

     "You make a dollar a day."

i started reading this like i was about to hear an explanation on some cryptical illuminati mystery that buzz encoded into Hooch... and then .... nothing. no punchline or anything

uhh,say what? Rollins?....Maybe a DaDa/Stream of Consciousness mix.
The Melvins are in the truest sense Artists and the reason they keep such a hardcore following is because their aesthetics are so unique and fluid.Part of the reason I got into the Melvins was the lack of traditionally structured lyrics. Speaking for myself, I find their songs have a longer shelf life because of the lyrical chaos & allow the listener to come to their own conclusions as to what any particular song is about. The songs sometimes seem to have new meanings over time & in different settings. "Hardly we reach"...YES! When you hear that after the more free form 'words' that come before it, they carry so much more weight because it makes you ask questions; What are they reaching for ?, What am I reaching for ? ...The mark of great artists/preformers is not only to get attention,but to keep it and leave the viewer/listener with new thoughts,questions & different perspectives.The Melvins do this for me.

Rollins seems to be direct with his thoughts. Even when he is saying something abstract like,"I've got diamonds in my eyes!",you know
exactly what he means...mostly because the the rest of the 'picture' he is 'painting' is quite clear and to the point.

It's not a fact that Buzz Osbourne is not a jukebox, just an observation?  

I guess I'm just the opposite.  I'd love to be able to post my interpretations for the meanings of the songs on this or any other board.  (Note: That does not mean that I know what all of them are about.)

Oh, and erin, anaconda, et. al, I the cat thing makes perfect sense now.  I originally thought that "Boris" was either a split personality, or a demon possessing the narrator.  Trust me, as the owner of six cats myself, I can understand how I confused those.  (Never play online poker with a cat on your lap. . .unless they're a better player than you.)
