Melvins and Down to tour

As for the whole Down feud, this thing is fucking ghey. Who ever the melvins decide to tour with is entirely up to them, I think it's a bit odd though that they're opening since Buzz has expressed that he was done with that shit. However, Buzz and Dale and the BB boys are doing the driving, not us. They've thought it through more than any of us have.

BTW, if this tour makes it up to Canada. All's I gots to say is, LONG LIVE DOWN!

i always thought down was the best band to spin out of pantera.  never bought an album, but i had a friend who thought the one down album was better than any pantera album.  he's dead, now.

For me Pantera are the ultimate metal band followed by possibly Sepultura.

Sepultura DEFINITELY comes before Pantera for me.  WAY better.

Not when we're talking 90's. Granted Sepultura had the early 90's covered with Arise and Choas....but no one did it like Pantera did in the mid 90's as far as big metal bands go.

Well, that may be for you, but I'd put any Sepultura before any Pantera.  Roots is about as brutal as it gets.  Sounds like an angry ol' tribe o' natives is gonna come and rip Phil Anselmo's head right off of its thick stump of a neck.  Sepultura also got a bit more experimental than the calculated stylings of Pantera, which immediately gives 'em a bump in my book.

If you watch a Phil Anselmo interview and bypass the fact that his eyes are permanently closed and he takes forever to complete a sentence in his slow deep nu orlinz drawl then I think you'll agree he is quite an intelligent charming man.  Down fans are not knuckle dragging rednecks, Down are a good band comprised of members from great bands, Pantera were the best metal band ever no contest.  Watch an interview with Buzz and tell me honestly do you think he's super intelligent or inspiring.  He seems to contantly talk about how unfair the music biz is, how all the best bands are unpopular, his music is so suprememely arty that the majority dont get it blah blah fucking blah.
Don't get me wrong i love the Melvins and own everything by them but I like them best when they stick to doing what they do best be it good heavy music or interesting experimental Honky style.  I just think you Melvinites are seriously taking this whole thing way too seriously.  You're embarassing yourselves as close minded idiots whereas the Down fans are open to the idea of Melvins supporting.

Being a fan of The Melvins, Weedeater and Down I gotta say I thunk Pantera sucked, first as a gay hair metal band then they completely ripped off a local band here called Exhorder and they gave no props to Exhorder at all.

Yeah Phil talks like he just got a root canal and he rambles on and on in between songs with every other word being the F-Bomb, it can be comical in small doses but the music honest and roots down into the blues.
At first I thought this was turning into a "Biggie Smalls/TuPac" issue but I think Melvins fans are easin up a 'lil and Down fans bruised ego's are healing over.
I mean I'm goin to see this show and I have no prob packin a bowl with you Melvinites.
