Well, we'll always have "In the Air Tonight." Will that be your most enduring song?
You know, that song won't lie down. It just won't go away. I mean, there's a Mike Tyson moment associated with it now. It's just bizarre. I guess it has a bit of mystery, a lot of atmosphere, and the drums coming in, pinning people to the wall.

unsane wasn't as bad as id thought theyd be.
Did you think they'd be worse because you're not keen on them or because you've seen them play badly before? Or something else, perhaps.

its just my general bias. never seen them before live, my friend who went with me didn't like them but i like some of those riffs they played.

Unsane was great, but of course, I'm probably biased.  Rat sounded great, Coady did an excellent job.  Glad to hear Against the Grain live as well..  during Scrape a woman behind me started giving me a back rub; I looked behind me and she pointed to the corners of her mouth with each of her pointing fingers, the universal sign for 'hey you, smile'.  I guess I was looking too serious during the set, so I smiled.  As long as her boyfriend didn't care, I didn't either.  The set seemed too short, and ended with the curtain smashing down on my head.

Glad to see DC, he jumped me at the merch table when I first got there.  Wanted to talk to him more, but didn't really get the chance.  Brian Walsby was working the merch table; the unsane splits and the letterpress cds are sold out, and the Off! twelve inch singles were down to the last few copies.  Because of this, the price had been raised from $20 to $35.  They were sold out by the end of the night.  Saw some guy walk by with a gigposters shirt on, heh.

The Melvins setlist was similar to other shows; highlights were the full (?) versions of Hung Bunny/Roman Bird Dog, Youth of America, History of Bad Men, and the new songs.  Buzz had his clear guitar, it looks like it would be fun to play.

DC was right about Deep Ellum; slightly sketchy, but it had it's charms..  I'm pissed that the melvins van got broken into, because it most likely means that the Melvins won't feel like coming back to Dallas.

Great midtempo set. Manky-history-YOA was tops.

Fuck that cockass in the slayer shirt.

yeah he was a douche.

I must have missed the Slayer guy; where was he?  Running around into people near the front?

Where did you see Buzz and Dale; before the venue opened?  Where did they end up parking?

Do you know if Off! singles were given to Off!? They're playing in the UK soon and I get the feeling some Europeans missed the opportunty to get one direct from AmRep (they went like shit off a shovel). The Off! tour might be the next chance. They're playing in Brighton so if anyone wants one, just holler.
