Post your Walsby '08

I asked walsby to make me a personalized one for the board.  he said he would later after the show.  but by the time the end of the show came i was pretty much flat broke.

if you read the detroit review notice how everyone who was in attendance makes at least one mention of being "without money".   notice a trend in the great state of michigan?

but anyway... one funny thing.  walsby said that he was purposely trying to make offensive posters to piss people off and couldn't seem to accomplish that.  he said he'd make them that said "fuck children! rape nuns!  overdose on drugs!" or whatever and some kid would walk up and say "that is fucking cool man!".    he seemed almost depressed by that.  society is in a sad sad state.

I had a feeling he was trying to make "insulting" posters.  I bought one which is similar to the one posted by sweet intuition.  Bong smoke, rainbow of sabbath, except the bottom says, "stoner rock is for pussies".   I could care less since I don't typically associate the term stoner rock with the melvins or anyone else for that matter.   I had a feeling its more of an inside joke about how reviewers always tag the melvins with being sabbath sludge, stoner rock, or some other generic term which means jack shit.  The fact that I'm a stoner who bought a poster with bongs on it is just a coincidence

i bought like ~$160 of stuff from him (spent about $100 at each of the last two melvs shows i went to) and he only charged me like $110 because he couldn't count and was a bit overwhelmed at trying to keep up with what i was telling him to give me. i told him that it wasn't right because i want to support the band and he was already sweating and just said 'close enough' so i threw him a $5 tip for his troubles. the tip jar was empty before that.

the poster i bought has a bong drawn on the back, and when i picked it up Waltsby was like "oh, sorry about that. i guess i drew a bong on the back of that one." I told him that it just made it better.
