Well i remember reading a story on the internet somewheres about dale hitting a 3 foot bong or some shit like that. I'm guessing it would be tobacco, seeing as marijauan is still illegal.

I only assume that because he just doesn't seem as "gone" as most stoners I know. And you always hear how anti-drug the Melvins are. Personally, I don't care if Dale's a pothead or not. He's an amazing drummer, and that's all that matters to me. Just as long as he does't get too messed up to put on a great performance.

I mean, I duno, I knew buzz wasn't into cigarettes when I read an interveiw about him talking about everytime he's seen a picture of slash, there's a cigarette in his mouth, or someone else just like that who has obviously since died of lung cancer of whatever...

I swear you guys...*shakes head* look at those album covers...only stoners would realize any true significance of the colour and subject matter...and especially the CONTEXT of the music itself, it's something subtle..NO WHERE
is it ever mentioned or apparently asked weather or not the melvins are (or were) a drug oriented project.
It's safe to say they aren't advertising to people to take dangerous mind alterting substances..
I mean thats GOOD...they are a POSITIVE influence, most kids should be thanking them for not being like that.

(I mean, making drugs seem cool and rebelious and whatnot, they have subtely managed to hint at the posibilities of imagination and creation without mentioning any inspirations such as LSD or the like, but anyone who knows where to look in the melvins albums can tell you there is evidence to support the consumption of weird shit.)

I'd say they have been humbled by a traumatic and huge life changing experiance (not to state the obvious about a certain skinny blonde rag-a-muffin)

It's not like they are habitual druggies...in fact they could very well have gone that route...luckily buzz has a brain enough to consider and reflect on his experiances.

I'd like to think of them as being ENLIGHTNENED by some powerful esoterric/subconsious forces.

but yeah, I see buzz as being smart enough to gain something positive and insightfull through a psychedellic experiance.

there's a lot of enlightenment transferred through trying to interperate melvins and their imagery and meanings....for example, it's always something you have to actually really THINK about before you sometimes "get it"

like the live at the fucker club..there's a picture of a naked chick, with tazmania where the bush goes,...just think for a second...it's DOWN UNDER!

my post about talking with buzz and JARED giving me a dirty look....I forgot to mention that was also probly also due to the fact that after I talked to buzz...I found a nice cigarette butt by the loby door and KNEW jared was eyeballing me, and I kind of played it like I was oblivious..I picked it up and lit it and took a nice drag and looked over at him, he was still just staring right back still...just had this total look like "god damnit!"

my head was KILLING, that smoke kinda cooled me down a notch, nothing like a good butt eh?
but I think I kinda was like *nod* to him..like y'know...the cool "whats up" nod! agreeably a very powerful yet simple moment there for me.

my friends all remind me about that cuz I'm a dirty bastard like that...they laugh so hard at me for picking a butt up right in front of Jared!!!
