I can take it off your hands for a 20 spot if you are still questioning its worth.

Does anyone know what Buzz says at the end of the intro to "It's Shoved"? The part where he says, "Papa said, 'Let that boy ______.'"

I haven't listened to this in a while, but the original line as spoken by John Lee Hooker was "...let that boy boogie woogie..."

glen

holy crap.   benway.. you are a trivial genious.  I never knew that had some other origin.

How 'bout me then? :P

Ever listened to ZZ Top's Fandango!? On Backdoor Medley, during Long Distance Boogie, (Long Distance Call being a Muddy Waters song Gibby tells the audience the next story before going into the song. Next song on the record is Nasty Dogs And Funky Kings, by the way.

Is everybody feelin' good? You makin' us feel good, too!
Now, early this morning I got on that long distance telephone
and I called my mama.
I said, "Mama, this is your boy, and I'm way down here in
New Orleans, Louisiana."
And she said, "That's all right, boy."
And she turned to my papa and she said,
"Papa, our boy's way down there in New Orleans.
We cannot let him stay out all night long."
She did!
Long about that time, I heard my papa lean toward my mama.
I heard papa tell mama, "Let that boy boogie-woogie."
He said, "It's in him and it's got to come out."

glen

karma!  if there was such a thing.  :)

Mark D already was mad about the Top!

Quote from: http://www.themelvins.net/wiki/index.php?title=Rocknet_Mark_Deutrom_InterviewWe all like the blues a lot. We're all fans of ZZ Top. I`ve seen them all through the years about 12 times. By the time I met Buzz and Dale I'd already seen them a lot. Buzz seems to have gotten into them the last couple of years. I just saw them in London and they were really good. They played real sounds, no triggering, no sequencing, no sampling. They performed material off their first four albums. It was great.

And Buzz agreed with him!
